Everyone said it couldn't be done....so i had to do it ;)
2x 46x46x92 reptibreeze cages, bolted together to make one large enclosure, the perfect size for me, as i couldn't find the right size anywhere else for a good price.
The cages were on a less than half price sale, so i took the...
I got my very first Panther Chameleon in Feb this year. Pet shop wasn't sure of his age, or even if it was a HE.
After doing a lot of research and reading EVERYTHING on the net, i found that he was approx 2 months, based on size and weight, and he was in fact a HE.
He was sold to me as a Nosy...
Yeah, i had a look on google, that's where i found most of my info. Very pretty shades of bright blue and turquoise! Always best to double check with real people who have experience with Chameleons tho ;) Thank you :)
All you guys have amazing chameleons, they truly look stunning with the array of colours!
I can't wait to see what colours I get from my little guy....quite exciting :) From what I've read the Nosy Be males are usually a turquoise colour? Is that correct?
Wow!! He looks amazing!
He sounds like a great character too haha!
That's so great he likes to come out and is friendly though. I've read a lot of people have been lucky like you :)
Qwerty is my first chameleon, so I'm hoping he's going to be a friendly one. He's been here for 7 days now and...
Mine has a bunch of crazy "pajamas". The other night, he was bright yellow and pastel pink. Their sleeping colors are usually quite radical.
Wow, they really are amazing creatures aren't they?
Have you kept chameleons long? The one in your pic looks huge!
Haha! I wonder if they can sense something from the cameras?
At the moment he is sitting on his "bed branch" and sleeping. He's a bright white colour, which I understand is normal for young chameleons when they sleep at night (UK here).
Almost like a ghost, hehe.
Although earlier this...
Thanks a lot for relplying, you guys are so helpful!
I see the bulge there when he's just doing his thing in the enclosure, in just having a hard time getting a pic.
But if the bulge means male then yeah I'm happy to go with that as there is 100% a bulge there.
Red dots mean male too...
Thank you :) Yeah everytime I watch him roam around his enclosure I can see a bulge there...just having a hard time getting a pic of him..he seems to know when the camera is on and hides?
He is rather cute isn't he!
I'll try to get another shot next time he's out. He wasn't too happy about the camera and tried zooming off. Last thing I want to do is stress him out, he's only been here a week :)
I tried to get another pic of him but I swear he's hiding his bum on purpose!!
Thanks, i thought it was a bit odd. They weren't trying to sell me a male tho, it was an unsexed lot of babies, all same price. I just thought it was an odd way of sexing them as i'd not read anything about that before.
I've managed to get Qwerty out of his cage today, so i was quite...
Yes i have the heat with the basking light. And he does have real plants to sit under. He sleeps in the same place on one of them, so i guess he's happy on that plant?
So i've got the heat/basking bulb at 40watts now, and the reptisun UVB/UVA full spectrum.
Thanks for replying :)
Thank you :)
I'm going to try and get some better "bum" pics and see if that helps. I've tried looking, and he does seem to have a bump at the base of the tail, but hard to tell.
So the cheek colour can have some significance then? That's new, i've only heard that from the reptile centre, so...
Thank you :) I've had a look at the others, and he does seem to have a bulge at the base of his tail, but it's hard to tell at the moment as hes still nervous when i stay near the viv for longer than a few minutes.
Yeah, i've tried having a little look when he's out and about on the branches, but hard to tell when there's no other young ones around to compare. Have you ever heard of the green spots behind the eyes thing? I've not heard of that before, so wondered if it's something i've missed, or just the...
