I'm going to have to make my own light stand for the terrarium because the 2 I purchased to hold the double bulb Hoods is too short with a max expansion of 90cm (the height of my terrarium).
However the design of the pre purchased stands is what I am going to do to make the new ones except...
Well I got it all really cheap :D specially the plants because I got them from overseas and they were nearly a 10th of what you would pay in a shop in the U.S. etc.
The hanging plants were only $3-$4 each and all the "Lrg" size.
Added some more plants to the rear wall which I think is enough overall, both sides will be covered in plants so only the front shows view and the vines will also have plants intertwining around them with certain areas more dense as elevated hides for the chameleon.
There is nothing on the...
I'd also like to add that beyond the terrarium itself I also have a DIY 10L humidifier along with a 3 nozzle MistKing watering system already in my possession.
Well I am in a rural area in a 3rd world country so I need to get everything outside the country and bring it in personally.
This way I hope not to run out of things fast.
Hello
My terrarium is for a Panther Chameleon dimensions are 48"L x 36"T x 18"W.
This is a completely "fake" interior terrarium (no live plants/real rocks etc.) having said that since it's for a chameleon the only things ON the base of the terrarium is a moss mat and 6 vertical bamboo poles...
Chris Anderson the Author of the GLASS terrarium for chameleons has Compact bulbs on all his glass tanks and hasn't had a problem yet with the countless species and tanks he has.
I think the Compact Bulbs still suffer from stigma due to their past problems.
I got a custom built glass terrarium made so I find it a little daunting to outwardly speak about it due to the negativity surrounding glass built terrariums...
Even though mine is quite large 48"Lx18"Wx36"H
Hello
I recently made these Bamboo poles which I fixed with a few coats of super glue to tiles that I plan to put inside the terrarium in order to wrap vines around and interconnect them all to create various vine bridges at variable heights throughout the terrarium.
Plan is to have...

Hello
Due to certain circumstances I am incapable of utilizing a Linear Fluro Light Fixture (long story short - I cannot get it into my country without paying 3x extra the overall cost of the fixture itself, and I do NOT see the linear fluro bulbs surviving the trip themselves).
So I have...
Might of got a bit ahead of myself with going the Sticky Tongue route of Supplements...
Cannot find it on E-Bay or Amazon
To buy direct from Sticky Tongue Farms for a $68 USD order will cost over $200USD in freight on top of the order to get delivered to Australia O_O...
Hello
I'm just tossing a coin over whether or not I should do this cause I don't know if it would be effective...
However what do people usually use for a Chameleon 'Hide Out'?
Do you just create an area with vines/branches that is densely packed with foliage but not so dense that the...
Thanks for responding.
I really just cannot pack a linear fluro light fixture and bring it with me because when I land I will have to pay 300% import duty fees and if I don't have an invoice they will just take it off me altogether :(.
As for the live food, I'm taking a risk....basically...
Thanks for responding :D
Firstly I'd like to state that yeah I under estimated the size of the large bags I thought they were 1kg but their actually 3.6kg so...no I will likely just stick to the much small 11oz or 6oz jars :)
Anyway...
I have done this all before but with Marine Reef...
