My pygmy chameleon started shedding yesterday morning and this morning there's still a piece of SHEd stuck to him. It's kind of wrapped around his leg. But when I looked at the other side I managed to unhook one end of the "skin rope" and now it's just this long hanging piece of shed hooked on...
Okay thanks! I just keep worrying because he looks so small and fragile. Yeah normally he looks plump, so I was worried when I saw those ribs. Why do they look so skinny sometimes? O___o do they suck their belly in or something?
How did you get yours to hand feed?

The person I got him from just put the crickets in.
Anyway I'll try my best. Anyone have cricket catching techniques? I use a pair of tweezers...it's pretty hard to catch them.
So I usually put in up to 5 small crickets 1/8" or 1/4" for my pygmy chameleon each day. But there are always stray crickets left over. My question is should I wait for my Cham to eat these crickets before putting in new ones? Should I start feeding every other day? Is there a way to take them...
Thanks!! I'll stop worrying now :)
Yeah I read about the shy part. I actually was trying to find maybe some "aquarium" background to stick to the outside of the glass (so I can still stick suction cups onto the glass but he can't see ppl moving around). Anyone know where I can get some? I've...
Okay thanks I'll look into getting some cork.
I don't see all the crickets but I do see like one or two occasionally running around. I usually put in up to five so should I just assume he is eating?
Also is it normal to not see my chameleon eat or drink? I'm not home a lot but during the times I am I only see him hanging out at the top. I got him Wednesday, I have yet to see him eat or drink but I also can't find the crickets I put in. But they could be hiding.
Is there another way I could stick them on? I don't really have a place to put him if I have to air it out for a few days. I definitely want to try it tho so I can do cool horizontal branches ooo:
Where did you get your cork?
its the exoterra tank, its got a screen on top and some ventilation on the bottom I think. I read that this one was fine to keep them in.
so I should just lay branches across the bottom of the tank?
Ohh I never thought of cork. Does it mold or anything if it gets too wet or is it okay? Can...
I just got a new pygmy chameleon from canvas chameleons. :D This is my first time caring for a chameleon and Kyle was super helpful, thank you!
This is my set up, do I need more branches? I'm going to put some spagnum moss in there later, but would that make it more difficult for him to find...
Where are you located? O:
I'm not looking to get one immediately, I can wait a few months. I'm new to chameleon keeping so I want to make sure I have all the info down first.
Uhm, so what size enclosure would you recommend? I know someone selling their old exoterra mini tall for $30. Is that...
Do you know of a place I could order online that guarantees captive born rather than wild caught? I don't really believe in importing wild animals so I'd rather not buy those. I've called two reptile stores around me already and neither of them have any.
The link kdc sent me said 5 gallons...
Hi!
I would like to get a chameleon, but space is an issue for me so I decided a pygmy chameleon would be a good idea. I have a snake, but otherwise I'm new to chameleon-keeping. From what I've read though, it doesn't seem terribly difficult. I was just hoping to get some more info from you...
