out of town for a week

the problem is that i leave in a few hours ... i didn't think about that cuz she's not restless, she's not wandering at the bottom of the cage, she's eating, etc ... did not see any sign that she could be gravid. now i don't have time to get a bin and some dirt, can i put some flower dirt in a...

out of town for a week

i will try to make time to read your post to find those signs, i just hope she won't need to lay exactly this week. i planned to put a laying bin after i came back, but now you scared me ... :)) also : i keep her temperature low (80-85 basking spot) and as i said i cut back on her food a month...

out of town for a week

well ... that's not very encouraging. so ... any other signs before they lay eggs ? i heard they stop eating before they lay, is that true ? mine is eating as a lion every time ... and i don't get that 'joint only a few month ago' ... hope i didn't offend you. i'm not as experienced as you are...

out of town for a week

i mist at night (couple of hours before the sleeping time) cuz i have college and i can't mist in the morning, i always mist after 4PM (4PM, 6PM and 8PM, that's the schedule most of the time). i feed her every other day (bugs and worms), and the days i don't feed her i put her little pieces of...

out of town for a week

thanks for the response, i'm not new on this forum, just new on 'leaving her alone kinda stuff'. i know how to set up a laying bin but it wasn't the case cuz she just reached maturity (she's 6 months tops), and i don't feel anything in her belly, i think she's just fat because last month i gave...

out of town for a week

so, i'm going out of time for a week and it's my first time leaving for more than 1 day since i had her. she's (I THINK) 6 months old. first, i'll post some pictures of her to tell me if she's looking fine or not, and next, i'm gonna need some advices on how to not mess this week up. i...

    UVB light

hmmm, that sucks, so instead of buying a UVB meter (which i guess is more expensive than the actual UVB) i should buy a UVB every 6 months ... about that ... when i got the first UVB light, the bulbs were like ... 5.0 or 10.0 and i bought the 5.0, 26W, but now i've seen them with other...

    UVB light

so, i know there are tones of threads about this, but in all of them it says "change it after 6 months", but there is actually some real signs of the light 'going bad' ? how should i know if it still provides enough UVB or not ?

Vibrating Feeding Dish for my Chameleon

well, that's kinda funny, and it's unknown untill you try it. why do i replied in this thread ? because the first time when i tried to give her fruit, i put them in her feeding cup and to catch her attention, i shook (don't know if it's the right verb :D) the cup and it worked, she got...

    calcium and D3

i've taken her outside almost twice a week this summer, sometimes i let her stay outside (i built her an outside cage as well) almost 3-4 days in a row when it was sunny, but now it's getting pretty cold. i'll try again with her next summer :):D

    calcium and D3

i dust them every feeding, yes, but i thought i should give her every day. anyway, the whole calcium/D3 thread is kinda vague, i've read lots of forums and nobody knows exactly how much they need. another really important question would be ... can they grow nicely without natural light ? if...

    ladybugs

i know that, it's actually used for bugs, it's a net that you put on the window frame to prevent the little guys from coming in the house from outside, but i can't find it in the stores (strange ...) i had no problems with chewing the mesh, i don't let the 'food' free range, i put the worms and...

    ladybugs

they (ladybugs) only stay on top, near the lights, i don't think that i could find something that will stay only on top and hunt for them. beside that, i don't think i can put anything in her cage and not get eaten in the next 5 seconds. i will just be more careful with the door/ window and pay...

    ladybugs

it's homemade :) it's a shelf transformed in a wooden cage + glass framed door + mesh on top and on the bottom of the cage. the bugs are attracted by the UVB and UVA light on the top of the cage, they rest on the mesh and she catches them from inside (somehow, don't really know how) with her...

    ladybugs

i think she ate the first one a week ago (she might be eating them every day, don't know how to stop it), but for now, no bad signs. she's moving around the cage A LOT, no lethargy, no vomiting, she's eating well ....
