I personally use a deli cup for my feeder cup. I keep it about 8 inches below his basking spot. Its easy for him to see the movement of the feeders and goes right for them. I also free range the feeders about 2 times a week so he gets the thrill of the hunt every now and again.
So it been almost four months having my cham Randel. He is currently going through a shed right now and he is extermly grumpy. I actually had to carry his cage with him in it to get him a shower since he was very snappy towards me. He's still upstairs due to the extrem cold weather we have been...
Your cage needs a lot of work. You need to get more plants in there for it to hide in. Like a hanging pathos. Which will help with humidity. He shouldn't need any type of bowl for him to drink from. Regular mistings should have him drinking and also a dripper.
Can't tell the sex. We need a shot...
Yes cut back. I alternate the d3 and multivitamins every other Sunday. Then the rest of the week plain calcium. Too much d3 can be bad because they could possibly overdose on it.
No need to flame the poor woman. Anyways this forum is very helpful and very nice to newcomers. There is a lot of experienced owners that will help you. Unfortunately I know nothing of breeding but people will be getting home from work soon and I'm sure you will get the help that you need.
When I first got my guy it took almost a week for him to poop. Pretty soon you will have more poop then u know what to do with. As long as he is eating and drinking you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
It maybe he is just stressed. It normally take a few day for them to adjust. Just get that screen cage set up and let him have a few days to adjust. Keep offering some food and make sure to read the care sheets.
I had to move my guy to a warmer room also. He's normally very calm and never afraid of me. But since I moved him last week he is very grumpy and even snapped at me once. I'm chalking it up to the stress of moving and praying for a warm up soon.
I personally use a digital thermometer/hygrometer it has a probe that I can tie to whatever branch or spot and get the temp. They are very inexpensive too. I got mine at walmart for$12.
With the temp this past week I hand to move Randal from the basement to the dining room. It was getting down to about 0 degrees a few of the nights so up he came. He's normally very mellow and not very shy. This morning when I got his feeding cup to clean it and give him some crickets he snapped...
They should be dusted with calcium with out d3 every day and the calcium with d3 twice a month. The multivitamin should also be given twice a month.
The way I do it is Monday through Saturday they get the calcium without d3. Then on Sunday they get the calcium with d3. The next week Monday...
