I am pretty much finally done setting up my 2 cages with the help from Todd from lightyourreptiles as I just got another 4 month old nosey be from Kammers...here are some pics attached
I have been fooling around with different bulbs to use for basking...i really like the full spectrum of light that a clear halogen gives off....does anyone have any recommendations on the best brand? Im testing the zoomed halogen 75 wt now??
I am using a arcadia 6.0 t5 already would it be bad...
5.0 should b fine bc the uvb will only reach 12in or so regardless cage size...possible may need stronger basking depending on room temp....if ur cham gets close a 12.0 arcadia or 10 zoomed you could fry him a lil aka sunburn...you could upgrade to the arcadia 6.0 from lightyourreptiles just got...
I recently got the Pro Exotics pe2 off amazon seems to be working real good with good reviews...also u can switch to halogens to have on energy if you need
U can put your bulbs in a dome and put on screen just make sure that a vine that he or she will bask on is about 6 inches away...this should significantly raise temps with those types if wattage your using
I second the T5 quad fixture i have it with an arcadia 6% n 6.5k then 2 6.5ks then the leds...i also use a basking bulb in a dome and have my lights timed to duplicate sunrise to sunset...also second the mistking just setup 2 nozzles in my 2x2x4 cage and mist 4 times a day
I just setup my mistking system in my cage with 2 nozzles...i dont think you will stress him out installing the nozzle only requires u to poke 1 hole for each nozzle...tubing is all outside cage and you could zip tie them to secure tubing from rattling....i would try and install while he or she...
If your getting him young start smaller then go bigger it will be easier on both of you...lights n other equipment you can transfer over just may need stronger watt bulb...thats what i have learned recently getting a panther as well
