From the sounds of it you're a great owner and his husbandry sounds really good. I have a female Jackson who actually refuses to eat unless I hand feed, so I say go for the cup feeding. If that doesn't work maybe give hand feeding a go? And if all else fails maybe a quick visit to a vet would be...
So as a lot of you may know, I live in Honolulu Hawaii. I love it here. Anyhow i've been the proud owner of multiple Jacksons Chameleons for about a year now. I got a female and I became hooked immedietly. So after a long time of searching, I didn't want to buy him, I wanted to get him Avatar...
First off i'm terribly sorry for your ill cham. It's never easy to handle or deal with especially since they're such sensitive souls. I've lost a cham before and it for me for weeks. I cried for days.
Anyhow back to the subject. Has the vet told you any other possibilities of what this...
Hmm..i'm not sure either heh.
I'm not too sure what to make of it. They seem to have very "generalized" information when it comes to any kind of chameleon. They only mentions mellers and veiled. They completely left out Panthers and Jacksons. I've yet to read the rest of the website but it...
So beautiful!
Very beautiful colors! You'll have to post pictures of their post shed to show us their new colors! :)
Also I love the feisty ones, they always have the best personalities in my opinion.
I'm so sorry for your loss :(. That can never be easy to go through. I've had a male Jackson die because of a mistake I made that was extremely critical, and I still haven't forgiven myself for it, probably never will. I picked up eventually and got myself a female, I hope the same happens for...
Hm I'm not too sure. When I got my female Jackson she was a very vivid brown. She was store bred and the whole time she was brown. After a week she began to turn more and more green and now she's a beautiful emerald colored green. I've yet to breed her with one of my males so I haven't seen her...
Hmm..I'm honestly not too sure but if the rest of her behavior is normal I would say its nothing to worry about but I'm honestly just guessing. You say it's when you approach too quickly so it may be her way of firing up.
So I have a pretty large housing for my jacksons. She has the whole thing to herself as a 30x30x18 terrarium. But I want to. Begin to house possibly a male as well. I don't have a problem buying a new cage or even building one, but I though I'd ask, what if I were to divide the cage in halves? I...
Thank you! :)
And she really does heh. She's so lovable and friendly but just like any chameleon, she has her moments of "back off or ill get fired up".
I opened her cage for her morning misting and feeding also to set up her dripper and she went to the top while I wasn't looking. I hand fed her crickets right there (calcium dusted of course :P)
He's looking good! Nice to see more Jackson owners :). I love panthers and veilds and everyone on this forum in general but it's rare to see a jackson owner, at least for me. Did you have yours shipped? I personally have gotten both of mine locally here in Hawaii.
