I have a 9 month old male veiled chameleon. Pascal is very healthy and actively climbs around his cage looking for crickets and what not. He also loves to eat hibiscus flowers that bloom in his enclosure. Recently I've been noticing him coming to the bottom of his cage and today I figured out...
Thanks everyone. :) as far as the lighting on the cage at night it is a heat emitting red light bulb that is 60 watts. Do you think that's fine to have on at night. What wattage of a regular household incandescent bulb do you think would be appropriate for an 8 month old male veiled?
I live in sunny San Diego and I have kept my veiled Pascal outside since I got him at 2 months old in may. I bring him in for bedtime every night. Recently it's been getting a lot chillier than usual and I am considering keeping him in as temperatures continue to be in the low 60s, and I have...
Are you sure he's falling to the bottom? My baby veiled has climed down to the bottom to walk around then climbs back up to the hibiscus. Occasionally he does it if he sees a cricket there, but he's healthy as can be :) so I don't see him coming down (only happened once or twice) on his own as...
Just thought I'd let you guys know that Pascal woke up today with both eyes open and hasn't closed either one so far! He ate six crickets this morning that were fed carrots last night so hopefully he'll stay as healthy as he looks right now! Thanks so much, I really appreciate the tips and...
Thanks so much.
I'm definitely taking the gutloading approach. I fed some commercial gutloading food to my crickets tonight in combination with carrots so that when I feed Pascal tomorrow morning he's got some Vitamin A in there too.
I really appreciate all the tips and advice. I'm hoping...
Thanks!
pretty wide pot lol. they're not huge hibiscus either, they're all small.
unfortunately i noticed him rubbing his eye on the fake branch a few minutes ago. I also saw him eat and poop so thats a good sign.
I may take him to the vet. I don't like him rubbing his eye :/
:(
Thanks so much for the help.
As requested here is full info.

Thanks so much!
Its funny because I was looking for the Ask For Help template to fill everything in but was having a brain freeze and couldn't find it. I'll use it from now on.
I've been gutloading my crickets with some commercial gut loading food but will definitely take in both your...
Yes, he opens both eyes and is more active outside than inside, including today even though its more of a cloudy day. I've caught him closing his eye only a couple times when outside but then I move him to the shade and he's back to normal.
I looked at both eyes this morning after reading up...
What is a good way to give Vitamin A to my baby veiled cham? I've only had him in my care for a week but I notice he periodically closes his right eye. I'm worried it may be lack of Vit A but I've read on here that it can be easy to overdose.
Is there any supplements in powder form I could...
Thanks everyone!
I really appreciate the feedback.
I have a linear repti glo 5.0 UVB light. I am definitely never going near the coil lights again, just in case.
I'm taking him outside during the day and I feed him crickets outside (while in his cage) and he's placed in a sunny but...
Ok, perfect. Thank you for the tip. :)
Is there anything I should be concerned about with his eye? Since it's summer time, I figured the natural sunlight would do him best.
Thanks. I only have it on during the night and its set at 75 in case the temperature drops below that it turns on. I'll get a 40 watt instead. Thanks :)
I've had my male baby veiled chameleon for exactly one week today. He is so gorgeous! When I got him they told me he was around 2 1/2 months old. Since I got him I have his basking light, a 100 watt red light, at about 90 degrees and I had a coil uvb light reptiglo 5.0. He has a screen cage and...
Awesome, thanks so much! Yea, he is in his cage while outside. Thanks so much for the help, just wanted to make sure he's getting the correct lighting :)
Hi Everyone!
I was wondering which light for UVB purposes for baby veileds you reccomend of the two below. Do you suggest the ExoTerra 5.0 ReptiGlo linear light or the ZooMed 5.0 ReptiSun linear light. Since I live in San Diego, I'm able to take my cham outside for a few hours each day(he...
