    RIP my little pygmy Norman

Thank you for all the great wishes, they have really helped. I miss him a lot. Especially in the mornings. That was our time to hang out, eat some breakfast and get going for the day. I would like to think he is in a much better place full of plenty of yummy food and other chams to play with!

    RIP my little pygmy Norman

Thank you...I am still so shaken up by it. Who would have thought the little guy would climb into my heart so quickly and so much! My husband's logic is, "well just get a new one" but it is not so simple you know?! I am still trying to figure out what went wrong! I am certainly not...

    RIP my little pygmy Norman

Unfortunately he is. I tested him with everything including moving him to a different spot and checked back to see if he had moved and nothing. I just hope he is in a better place eating crickets and flies with all the other pygmys!

    RIP my little pygmy Norman

I only had Norman for a short 4 months, but had noticed he had gone "missing" a couple days ago. I searched and searched but couldn't find him. The flies I was feeding him were gone so I figured he just was playing a long game of hide and seek. Then yesterday I fed him flies and last night...

    Springtails

I am having springtails and isopods being delivered by Peter with bugsincyberspace.com (great place and great service)! I am just curious now, how many of each do I put in my pygmy cage (18x18x24)? They came in large amounts (50 springtails and 15 isopods), do I put them all in, some? Do I...

    New Pygmy Eating Habits Worry

OK I bought a digital thermometer today, great advice! I have also introduced fruit flies into the cage (crickets were a lot of work and I needed to try these). Any advice of how many to put in cage at a day? I do coat them with calcium but I want to make sure I give him enough food.

Crickets getting too big for my pygmy

What do you feed yours? I am just having a hard time finding an easy solution for him? The crickets just grow too fast and I don't have a space to breed them myself and the closest store that sells pinheads is 45 min away. The fruit flies seem a bit easier but just got them tonight so not...

    How do you pick names

My pyg looked like a grumpy old man so I had to choose a grumpy old man name. Since I am saving the name Walter for my next dog (a pug), the only other name I could think of was Norman. :D

Crickets getting too big for my pygmy

I have all but one caught, thanks for the advice, I kind of did a combo of all suggestions and got them! Sneaky little suckers. After this experience, I have decided to try fruit flies. How many fruit flies should you feed your pyg a day? Just curious as I moved to them instead of crickets...

    Bearded Pygmy Chameleon Food

How many fruit flies should you feed your pyg a day? Just curious as I moved to them instead of crickets because the crickets were too hard to manage as I couldn't get a hold of pinheads very often. Any advice? I put a dozen in today and they are so small I can't tell if he has eaten them or...

Crickets getting too big for my pygmy

So I made a newbie mistake and put too many crickets in my cage for my pygmy. He has done a good job of eating some but there are about 4-6 left that are looking like they are getting too big to eat. I tried catching them but with no luck. Any suggestions of what I should do? Any good ways...

To get one or multiple pygs?

I haven't read much in the breeding section so I am sure there is a lot to learn there but what do you do with them once you have the babies? Do people usually keep them, sell them, etc? Just curious, if they breed a lot, I am curious how many they have and what to do with the cute babies!

To get one or multiple pygs?

I just recently brought a great boy home named Norman. He is the greatest but I think he may be lonely. This is my first reptile so I thought I would start with one until I could get a handle on everything but from what I read on the forums, most people seem to have multiples. I thought about...

    New Pygmy Eating Habits Worry

I also have a questions about misting. It is so dry in AZ that I feel like I need to mist every 2 hours for 60 second. Is that too much? It seems like all the leaves are dry within an hour so I don't think I am drowning the terrarium but I want to make sure I am not hurting him! As stated...

How and Why Do Chameleons Change Color?

Hey thought I would revive this post with a question, how often does your cham change color and why do you think it does? I have a pygmy cham I just got and introduced lighter branches into his habitat. Now he is streaking with lighter browns. Think he may be trying to blend in? Don't...

    New Pygmy Eating Habits Worry

Thanks for the great advise. I think I will pick up a digital thermometer later this week when I get paid next (expensive little guys)! He seems to be doing much better and eating like a pig (I mean pyg). One quick question though, I am having problems spotting pygmy poo, any advise of...

    New Pygmy Eating Habits Worry

I woke up this morning and there were missing crickets! Sound like he is eating after all. :D About the heat lamp, I am just having the hardest time regulating the heat in there, it tends to get colder than warmer (so far, we will see how I will be able to cool it down in the AZ summer)...

    New Pygmy Eating Habits Worry

Hi all, I will post pictures soon but wanted to throw out my newbie question. Just got a pygmy yesterday. I have a 18x18x24 glass enclosure with hydroballs, carbon, and coco soil layers, real plants, 5.0 and 75 watt lights and a monsoon auto mister. Brought him home yesterday with some...
