So would a wide (4-5ft long) cage hung at around 7 feet high off the ground with the lighting on one end work just as well? That would cover both height and a range of temps I would think. But would this work for a veiled or do they need the temp gradient to be on a vertical scale?

I guess i'm wondering why it needs to be taller than wider. Is it because they prefer walking up and down alot which i've seen my veiled do or is it an elevation issue? If it's about the territorial space, won't the wideness help with that? Or do veileds prefer a vertical territorial...
