    Chams wont eat!

Hi all...I have 2 chams, a panther and a veiled. They are almost 2 years old now. I have been trying to give them variety with feeders, but they are now on a total food strike. The will ONLY eat superworms. They also like hornworms, but I can't get those all the time. I have a dubia colony...

    Hornworms into pupa

Hi...was just wondering if anyone knew if you have to keep your hornworms in dirt so they will turn into a pupa? Will they just do it when they are ready regardless of what kind of substrate they are in, or is dirt required. thank you Caroline

Only poops in the sun :S

Hi...so just throwing this out there. My panther apparently will only poop when I put him in his outside cage, when the sun is on him. In his normal indoor cage, nothing happens. And I can't get him outside all the time, cause its been cold lately. Is this normal? He has all kinds of lights...

    Panther colors

Hi...so I keep seeing all these great photos of brilliant colored panthers. My guy should be full of red/orange and blue. But, he never shows those colors. How do you get them to show off their coloration? When he sleeps, his colors brighten up...but during the day he is just green mainly...

    Veiled care vs Panther care

Hi...I have a veiled cham and a panther cham. I had read that their needs were the same, in regards to heat/humidity/enclosures. My boys are in identical cage setups, with an auto mister/raindome, a light hood with a UV 5.0 bulb, and grow light for the pothos and a 100watt incandescent for...

    Fruit fly cultures

Hi...I have been making my own cultures now since May. Was wondering, when the culture is done, can I just reuse the container and lid? I would think if you wash out the container well it's fine but was not sure about the lid. Can that be cleaned off as well to be reused? Thanks, Caroline

    Meet Sparky!

I was able to get a beautiful panther at the San Diego Super Show this weekend. I have named him Sparky. He is from Kammers, and his sire is Red Destiny. He is already beautiful, and I think he is only 4 months or so old. Can't wait to get him in his new forever cage. Will post pics once...

    Basking temps question

So I have had my veiled now since St Patricks day. When I first got him, he was only 2 inches long, nose to vent. I had a 60watt incandescent bulb for his basking spot, and it seemed pretty darn hot when I put my hand under it where he would sit. I changed it to a 40W and that has been...

When do they get their colors?

Hi...I was just wondering when I might expect to see some colors on my male veiled? He is about 4 1/2 - 5 months old now. Even when he is mad at me when I take him out of his cage, his color stays the same light green. Just wondering when he might show me some stripes or spots or something. :)

    Fruit fly culturing

Hi...so I decided to start my own hydei fruit fly culture. I was wondering how long it will normally take before I see maggots in there. I created it on Sunday. I have another one I bought from my local reptile store, and it's going but very slow. Do those bigger flies take longer to...

    Watering your cham...

Has anyone tried using a rain chain to provide water to their cham? I would think it would work ok...you can have it end in a cup to catch the water. You could use something other than actual chain, like a plastic chain? My cham is so weird with drinking his water...worried he's not getting...

    Dubia feeding frenzy...NOT

So my local reptile shop started selling cups of little dubias. I had read how these are great feeders and how chams love the. I just put them in his cup this morning, about 5 of them. He crawled down to his cup, looked around and walked away. Are dubias not attractive to all...

    Pics of Finn..see him grow!

So finally a pic of Finn. Shocking how fast they grow. Here he is when I first got him on March 20, 2013, and one of him today April 21, 2013. He has doubled in size...maybe more. See how his hat is growing... :) Still isn't showing any color but am hopeful I'll see some soon.

    question on handling

Hi all you experienced Chammer owners. I have a veiled cham boy, about 3 months old at this point. He is growing like a weed...anyways, he is terrified of me. This seems to have gotten worse as I try to spray him with water everyday. I'm the evil water lady now. The 2 times I have held him...

    roaches/crickets in same container?

Hi...I have a little cricket keeper I use for my crickets. Put gut load in there for them. I don't keep many...just enough for a week or so, and then get more. But, if I wanted to also get a few dubias, same size or so, can you keep them all in the same cricket keeper, or do they require their...

First shed...still have pieces stuck on him.

Hi all...my little veiled shed this morning. Was the strangest thing to watch...he had one little sheddy spot over his arm one minute, then he started yawning real big, and next thing you know his entire body is shedding! Anyways he has gotten most of it off except for some fluffy pieces on his...
