    might be a stupid question

I am in the process of building an outdoor enclosure. I want to use plastic coated 1/2" wire mesh. Is there any chance of my chameleon shooting after a bug on the sceen missing and getting his tongue stuck in one of the holes in the wire?

    Feeder Counts?

I go in on a group order of crickets with 2 other guys who are local to save on shipping. I didn't bother to ask where they were ordering from. It turns out it was the same company that shorted a few of us in this post. Again out of the 1,000 that were supposed to be in the box there was only...

What is the right amount to feed?

both are males, head pads look normal. The panther seems to have a much more voracious appetite than the veiled. It's gotten to the point when he sees me opening the cage he starts climbing down to the spot I dump the crickets in.

What is the right amount to feed?

I have a 5 month old veiled who is eating about 10-13 3/4" crickets a day. I also have a 4 month old panther that is eating about 20 a day and always looking for more. This seems to be a lot to me, but the fact that they are juveniles is why I feed that much. I also occasionally feed some...

    Feeder Counts?

Funny I should see this post. About 2 weeks ago I received 1,000 from an online vendor and sponser of this site also. There was only about 300 in the order. I won't mention the company name although I should. But I will never order from them again, nor will I reccomend them to anyone. If they...

    need dubia breeding help

It would be easier for me just to keep them all together. I was told that feeding the roaches dog food is no good for your chams. I was going to keep the adult breeders in their own colony and continue to feed dog food. I can seperate and gut load the nymphs and raise them with a better diet...

Before I go to the vet in a complete panic...

Mr. Wilson, I'm sorry to hear about your dog and chameleon, talk about having a bad day! By chance is the vet that treated your chameleon in north Jersey? I am looking for reccomendations for a good vet in my area in the event of emergencies.

    need dubia breeding help

Thanks for the advice. I am going to thin out some males today. I am also going to try adding a protein source. Perhaps the cricket food isn't cutting it?

    need dubia breeding help

I started with a colony of 25 adults over 3 weeks ago. Some of the females gave birth within 2 days and I now have about 10 babies now about 1/4". I'm assuming that the females were already pregnant. I have seen no new babies in the past 3 weeks. Is this normal? The temp is hovering around 90...

    Hmmmm...Interesting News Story!

Florida, especially the Everglades has long had a problem with non native species being introduced intentionally or by accident for decades. These alien species have started to disrupt the delicate ecosystem in the Everglades. Case in point the Burmese python which has moved to the top of the...

    misting

I like the rain maker idea. In his old small enclosure he knew right where to go to drink from the dripper. I moved him to a larger enclosure and he doesn't seem to drink anymore. His feces looks normal so maybe he is drinking but I'm not seeing it.

    misting

Is there anybody out there that doesn't mist at all? I have been hand misting, but my veiled freaks out and takes cover every time. I thought he would learn to accept it over time, but it's been over 2 months and he still hasn't gotten used to it. I was thinking of going with a mist king, but...

gypsy moth caterpillars good for chams?

during the warmer months there seems to be an abundance of gypsy moth cocoons in trees loaded with caterpillars. Has anyone ever fed them to your chameleons? They are pretty fuzzy, don't know if that is good or bad?
