    new double wide cage!

You want your basking light as close as possible to your uvb, so that when he basks he’s getting uvb along with his heat. Chams don’t really use many lower branches, but the males especially may do routine patrols of their territory, including the occasional walk along the enclosure floor. I...

    I took the plunge-Meet Eja

Soooo very tiny! Soooo very adorable! 🤗 I think she’s already looking better. 💗

    new double wide cage!

Good job! 🤩 You could hide the foam with some strategically placed fake greenery/vines. The grey on his casque is normal. I suspect every male veiled keeper questions that, especially when it darkens even more when fired up. Took me awhile to get used to it. 😂 Your guy does look a bit close to...

    Tested Postive for Parasites

I don’t know if this will help any. If you have a pair of helping hands, and/or are not able to give his meds while he’s in his enclosure, give him a towel to hold onto and have your helper gently hold him, while you give the med. The veiled casque makes for an easy handle…just be gentle not to...

A bit of sadness tonight…looking at old videos and pics of those animals that live only in my heart and memories. 😞😢😢

    Tested Postive for Parasites

You’ve already gotten the very best of info. I just want to add that as far as I know, Linda’s Gone Buggy has ‘clean’ feeders. It’s usually when we buy from pet stores that we have a higher risk of feeders having been contaminated. With that being said, the world around us is far from sterile...

Littlefoot & Mr. Jack photo dumps

Awesome! That’s about my perspective with all of mine too, but I’m only barely 5’. We need those types of curtains with ceiling tracks like they have in hospitals. 😂 I have a freestanding pole thing that I’m always bumping into and knocking down.

    I took the plunge-Meet Eja

Congrats! I was just day dreaming about getting some of these little beauties the other day. 🥰 Not to rain on your parade, but she does look quite thin and dehydrated. With your excellent care though, she should bounce back from the effects of shipping and go on to thrive. You’ve become such a...

Best ways to feed my 3-6 month old veiled chameleon?

I use and like the shooting gallery (link already provided above) and it has been simple enough to make my own version of one. The hardest part was dulling the edges of the opening so my chams won’t injure their feet if they grab it (and they do grab it). There are several similar style feeders...

can't stick tongue out after vet

Oh…ok. I’m in Brevard too…Cocoa. :) I have the ac on just about year round so that helps immensely with humidity. My humidity stays around 45-55%, which is a fair enough compromise since I have panthers and veileds. There was an ok vet at Cocoa Veterinary Hospital that was decent enough with...

Where is the best place to get hornworms

This is hilarious! 😂 I’ve had hawkmoths escape their enclosure and flying free thru my home until I could catch it. 😧 I do always kind of shudder a bit too when the conical end of the pupa moves.

Is there such thing as to much stuff?

I would remove the artificial plants from the inside. I have mine hung on the outside of my doors to give my chams a sense of more privacy/hiding.

can't stick tongue out after vet

I’m also in Florida and humidity has been a struggle at certain times of the year. I do have 3 double sized chameleon enclosures in a smaller bedroom, which doesn’t help things. Whatever humidity is too much for the central ac, I have a room dehumidifier to use. Since all are screened enclosures...

can't stick tongue out after vet

I don’t know enough to say if the tongue issue is related or not. It doesn’t seem like it would be, but 🤷‍♀️. I feel ya with the injections into those poor little scaly arms. Make sure to alternate the left and right, front arms only. I always tried to give a yummy treat after they’ve calmed...

    Feeding

These may help you. Providing a variety of healthy insects is best. I don’t specifically ‘gutload’, but I do keep my feeders well fed a variety of fresh organic produce (the same items I feed to my bearded dragons) and Repashy Bug Burger to round things out. The various gels and such which are...

    Clumsy chameleon.

Unfortunately we don’t have any vets on our list in Missouri. Looking up your local exotics vets, the clinic your girl is at looks as good as any. For a second opinion, you could try Dr Rambo at https://www.arkvetofliberty.com/ Your husbandry sources are excellent and we’re all on the same page...

Can food that’s too big kill my panther?

It may have scratched his throat on the way down. I would feed him softer feeders for a few days just in case. I prefer feeding much smaller feeders than my animals can handle. I just give them more to make up for it. This also helps so I can give a variety of different feeders at one meal.
