converting a repti breeze x-large to a hybrid design

...vinyl. Service door and top panel are still screen providing for chimney effect. It has worked very well in helping keep nighttime humidity high with fogging and it is a much better viewing experience than screen doors. I don't have waterspots using RO water and with misting heads aimed...

Has anyone here had any experience with a machine that distills water? They sell them on amazon

I'm not sure that came out specifically - I just assumed for use in a mister or fogger. I use RO/DI for everything, but like Mark, I have a large unit from reefkeeping days and a 50 gallon storage tank for it. I worry about a lot with the chameleon, but access to water isn't one of them.

    Water

Purified vs distilled? I don’t have a RO system and I really don’t like conditioner if I can avoid so to add to my five gallon bucket hooked to my mistking should I use purified water or distilled? Thank you guys

    Distilled water $1.89/ gallon!!

Thank you! They look interesting to. I don’t know if I’ll get a distiller or an RO system but I’m thinking about one or the other.

    Distilled water $1.89/ gallon!!

Parsons like a LOT of water. I imagine that if you went through that much distilled it would eventually be worth it, or you could distill your own water.

Question regarding distilled/RO water and misting system. (Distilled not bad for arboreal reptiles?)

Ah gotcha. Makes sense… so it’s pulling from pretty much whatever it touches. In the case of minerals it would have to be making it to the bones/blood vessels/liver/etc to pull excess minerals away… which I’m guessing isn’t possible without causing more damage than you’re repairing. So getting...

Foggers, a Tool or a Danger?

...foggers, I think the concern is that it’s inhaled. This would make it easier for anything unwanted to take hold in the body I’m guessing? RO water also still has some mineral content and pretty much any water, anywhere will have some sort of bacteria in it at some point. Even with the UV...

...a gallon. Plus, I never ever tested the water that was made, how do I know I distilled it? With aquariums many have RO unit or purchase RO water which, is purchased most of the time from aquarium/pet shop. Even they get it from from a second source and delivered to them in thousand gallon...

Are this faucet filters any good?

I'm confused as with the pur filter, which is similar to a Brita if I remember correctly, it is safe for a human. But yes the water from the RO buddie system is safe for human consumption to my knowledge.

    Time to upgrade

So quick update, yesterday my RO filter arrived. Got it all setup but also the new enclosure maintains humidity really well. The misting system still runs, but way less frequently than the old enclosure. I have also decided to utilize a dripper to ensure that a source of water is available. I...

Foggers, a Tool or a Danger?

Just my opinion, leedragon Has a very valid point . If your water is RO and not chlorinated (as I’m on a well ) And your system is blacked out And cool how is bacteria going to survive. Along with drying out daily it has no way of taking route. I run a computer fan through my blacked out system...

Zero water filter... Need feedback from smart people :)

Hey everyone. So I no longer have access to RO water. I was going to buy an RO filter after we moved but the moved ended up a bit more expensive than originally planned. I do not really want to have to buy distilled at a $1 a gallon. So I bought this water filter system...

    Pothos question

...undersides of the leaves. And I will re-pot the thing again. Going to find some pure Castile soap and do a diy insecticide soap tonight with ro water. (Very hard tap water here) Might also do all my other plants as well since I’m moving the other large pothos up top. Don’t want to do this...

    Bioactive Enclosure Project 24x24x48

I can't speak for the bioactive components, but IMO, $400 is too low by more than half ($1000+ to properly establish a chameleon without being bioactive.) IMO, Mistking water cannot be reused without re-processing, which means re-distilling or re-RO filtering.

Could this be the start of an eye infection?

I would just mist heavily with RO or distilled water and make sure the eyes get misted with a hand or pump sprayer and it should start the "eye cleaning." Also might want to supplement with some Vitamin A.
