    Buying enclosure for veiled chameleon

Hi! I’m looking into buying a veiled chameleon soon and don’t know what enclosure to purchase. I’ve looked at purchasing the “large chameleon kit” or “large extreme chameleon setup” from flchams, I’m wondering if anyone suggests those or which one? Or if I should purchase everything separately?

    First enclosure setup

Got him today actually Driskel JuvY from flchams. He looks really good. He has been hiding since he got here though. I’ll catch him creeping out to look around every once in a while

    Is my chameleons growth stunted?

I have a veiled chameleon I about about a year ago from flchams I forget how old he was when I bought him but I’m pretty sure he was 4-6 months. This is my very first chameleon and everything seems fine with him however he is growing very slow if at all at this point. I think I’m doing...

    Build progress...how are we doing?

So... current state of concerns... just found out that our little guy will be here tomorrow from FLChams!!! we‘ve been watching for a month or so and they just listed some babies sired by Naval, my daughters favorite! Needless to say she freaked and I jumped on it, and ordered a baby (2 month)...

    Chickweed

On the Flchams safe plant list they have chickweed listed, but I have found some contradictory information. It’s apparently toxic to all animals but usually only a problem when eaten in excess quantity. However, it seems cold blooded animals are particularly at risk. One account says the plant...

New Cham not eating and making slight pop or click noise while breathing occasionally

...the best days of his life.:) if you didn't buy him PetSmart would have him and he would have been gone days ago. I recommend you buy from flchams or someone on the forums.it is very expensive and you will have some good times and some bad ones. If money is a big issue than you might not want...

    My new setup :)

Just finished putting together my new setup for a baby veiled I'll be receiving Tuesday from FLChams (from the Naval line, a very vibrant orange sire). Bottom is planted: 1" layer of clay pebbles, screen and weed barrier, then 5" of soil (made up of sponge moss, bark, sand, and eco earth). I...

    FLchams

I have a FLcham, got him over a year ago. When I got him I had suspicions something was off because his poop was really smelly. Well turns out he had coccidia and lots of them. I waited 3 weeks to get a fecal so if you decide to get one from them get a fecal done within the health guarantee...

    First enclosure setup

You have a ton of live plants... Why did you put in fake plants as well? You could pull all the fake stuff and it would be better.

    Plants for my enclosure

...plants, you’ll find most contain these calcium oxalates. As a matter of fact, there are MANY plants that appear on “cham safe” plant lists (FLCHAMS included) that are much more toxic. Many ferns have a toxicity level, passiflora/passionfruit vine, ficus, succulents, etc have much higher...

Thanks so much for the info. I got the tank set up today and getting springtails in ASAP. I probabaly won’t have the patients to wait on acuminatus unfortunately. I’ll check my lead again and hope I can still get the Brookesia. Do you personally have any leads on Brookesia species around?

    Parsons chameleon

That's actually cheap. They used to be thousands. I paid 1000 for mine(not rich, just like chameleons lol). Chams should stay fairly expensive IMO. We've seen what happens when they're cheap(veileds). Parsons can take almost 2? years to hatch as well.

Buying a Cham from PetsMart ?

...is just not what I am looking for. This is the problem, everybody has bread for these color traits, so it is hard to find natural looking. One of the things I see on FLChams is these odd shaped casks. There are two things I am looking at the shape of the crest, and the spikes along the...

I wanted umbrella but all the one I found in stock were over $60 a piece and I'm trying to keep plant budget to $150-200 atm. I'll...
