Chameleon acting sick. Too much d3

What makes you believe that he has had too much D3? How often do you give your cham the D3 supplement? What brand are you using? Different brands have different amounts of D3, so the more info you provide us, the better we can help. Like Linda said above, a 100W basking bulb is probably...

Fighting low humidity again! Please help!

I've said this in other threads but the reality of the universal adoption and recommendation of screen cages for this hobby should be rethought and swapped in favor of hybrid enclosures. Right now my Relative humidity has been single digits outside in Southern California (non costal) for a...

Chameleon acting sick. Too much d3

His eyes are nice and round. I took him to the vet today and they gave me food to syringe feed him as well as injections for antibiotics. Attached in the link is the type of light fixture I use for the basking lamp and the uv light. I am not sure if this fixture is the issue or I should lower to...

Light fixtures, Sansi grow light and cage placement. Am I risking burning my house down?

Not in Cali, but I finally gave up out of frustration searching for incandescent and use those same bulbs. They do the job and save me from spending 30+ minutes carefully inspecting and reading every light bulb box at the store.

Is my chameleon about to shed!? Or do you think it’s something else? the lightness on his face just appeared in the past 2 hours maybe

Veiled chameleon, probably about 6-7 weeks old, I believe he’s male (small bulge and the SLIGHTEST spurs on back feet, honestly can’t tell for sure yet), been in my care for a little over 3 weeks. I have never handled him. I feed him crickets and dubias, however much he’ll eat, anywhere from 3-8...

Light fixtures, Sansi grow light and cage placement. Am I risking burning my house down?

Ah, right. You’d think I’d have common sense enough to work that out on my own! I’ll do some rearranging and see about moving the enclosure away from the wall outlet. In regards to lighting, I’ve got a whole new concern. I’ve been pretty mindlessly buying LED bulbs for the house as needed...

Light fixtures, Sansi grow light and cage placement. Am I risking burning my house down?

I always have bought these. You can get them at petco too. I have only had one burn out in 2 years. https://www.amazon.com/Exo-Terra-Sun-Glo-Neodymium-60-Watt/dp/B01CDHMPJ6/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=exo+terra+daytime+heat+60+watt&qid=1625411020&sr=8-3 I do not like the focused basking bulbs...

New owner / dark in color

I bought it from a women that said she got it in California. I was impressed by it myself. I haven't gotten it quite yet on how to house and do everything with my chameleon. It's just a learning process for me! But I will figure it out. I really like Ozzy and I want him haply as possible

    Questions about possible Mouth Rot

I have some concerns about my 8 month old female Panther. I looked in her mouth today and it looked yellower than I remember. Just want to make sure that it is not mouth rot or an infection. Now I don't get to see in her mouth too often, so I could be overreacting. She does not have her mouth...

Young veiled Cham not eating much anymore.

Your Chameleon - Veiled Chameleon, I’m not sure if it’s male or female, been in my care since 6/27/22 and I believe it’s about 6 months. Still pretty small. Handling - Not often at all. Lighting

When getting a basking bulb, check the box for the word "equivalent." Many bulbs these days have something like "100 Watt" in big font and then in small font state "equivalent; only uses 15 watts" or something of the sort. So essentially you need to find something that actually uses 45 watts or...

    Opinions on Juvenile Weight

I have some concerns about my 5 month old Panther. He does not eat much and only weighs 27g. I have attached pictures of him flared up and then also normally. Seems very thin compared to my female that is about the same age (Week Weeks Older). I don’t know if I should take him to the vet or not...

    Incandescent bulbs

I think their heart was in the right place, but they didn't foresee some reasonable exceptions/loopholes. We've converted every lightbulb in the house to LED except the 2 basking lamps in the enclosures. Sure, you can buy special "reptile bulbs", but from everything I've heard & read here &...
