I understand what you're saying about the customers complaining, but that doesn't happen. They are very good about hiding things. All of this goes on in the back. The store is very clean & upscale. The cages of all the animals are cleaned everyday. You're not going to walk in this store & find...
I haven't been on in a while, but if anyone remembers I work for a pet store (not a chain store) & I adopted one of their chams that had severe mbd, Rocky. Well, I'm happy to report that Rocky is doing great. He's come a long way.
When I was in the process of deciding whether or not to adopt...
Nothing has changed in his cage, it's always been the same. He has a 5.0 reptile uvb tube, pothos & schefferella plant.
I didn't get a chance to shower him because I spent all night after work at the emergency room w/ my dad. Hopefully it hasn't gotten worse. I'll find out in the morning.
My veiled cham Hammie's right eye seems to be a little watery. What would cause this? It's not swollen. It's not a secretion, just watery, like he's crying. Any ideas?
littlevillage...what are you doing to help your rescued chameleon recover?
He seen a vet when I first got him & I was told that he was to weak for a shot. The only thing I can do for him is to make sure his food gets dusted every day. 5 day calcium, 1 day calcium w/d3. He has improved & can...
It's funny that you should ask this because I was wondering the same thing. My males head is almost entirely white, very pale compared to the rest of him. When I first noticed it I thought it was just because he was getting ready to shed. Well he shed ( head included ) and he's still pale.
I have a rescued veiled w/ mbd & I use a reptarium on it's side. This way he still has lots of room. As he has gotten stronger I've add more branches for him to climb. He has a potted pothos in there & there's where he spends all of his time. I cup feed him because he can't move fast enough to...
My male veiled Hammie that I got in mid June all of a sudden wants out of his cage. I'm not sure exactly of his age. He was about 3 inches long when I got him in June. Hammie has never been one to hide & play shy. I have never handled any of my chams because I know they don't like it. The other...
I don't work for a big chain but I know my store pays $30 for veileds & then marks them up to $99.99 for babies. They get away with it because a lot of people don't dare order from the internet & there's no reptile expos around our area.
Oh, they are definetly gut loaded & dusted. Rocky will usually eat 3-4 super worms a day.
I got thinking about it & I might be able to cup feed him after all. He spends most of his time up in the potted plant & I might be able to put a cup on the floor next to the plant if it's the right...
I free range my crix & I also put my young one in a big cage right from the start. But...I also keep a good eye on him & know how much he's eating. He's not shy about me being right there when he eats. If I thought he was having trouble I would cup feed. As for the color my males have always...
Mine get a lot more than 5-6 medium crickets too. 5-6 is what I read here

I don't plan on using only supers but for Rocky, it's easier. The crickets get away from him & w/ the mbd he can't chase them. Because...
So, I've read that a juvie should only eat 5-6 medium crickets a day. So about 3 superworms should do it? That doesn't seem like enough. My Rocky, the adopted one with mbd, will chow down 3 in no time.
