I’m getting a little fed up of buying these reptile specific basking and spot lamps that only last a few months, yet cost the same as about 8 normal spot bulbs. I’ve got a light tube for UVA/B, is there actually any need for me to get a certain bulb, or could I use a normal spot bulb? what’s so...
if you can see through it, they will be able to see the each other on the other side.
I used to have 2, vivs next to each other, had a large paper in between them, they couldnt possibly see each other, but they knew they were next to each other, as the male would constantly try to look over...
the black spots are usually a warning, anger, scared, spooked, etc.
from the looks of her, she's a little puffed up, so might be hostility towards you.
because you dont handle her much, this is the reason for it all.
you shouldnt really mix them, dont put a male in with her, they will...
It does sound like your description, i'm waiting for him to do it again so i can get a picture. it doesnt seem to be irritateing him though, so it might not be anything sinister, as it does go down quite quickly when he moves it, and it looks normal. got the camera ready to take a pic. lol
he was rubbign hiseye last night, but i didnt think that it was because of that, because there was still some skin around his head and face. but he was rubbing his eye a little more then i have seen before.
my veiled/yemen chameleon male, which is about 2 and a half years old looks to have a bulge at the front of his eye, but it only appears in the right eye, and is only present when he's sitting and not moveing it, as soon as he starts to move it it's gone and all looks normal. been trying to get...

I’m a little worried, with this ban that is being proposed to ban the sale of incandescent bulbs of 100w (obviously it will start to cover all wattages). The cheapest bulbs that I and probably most of us can afford and use (even if price isn’t a factor) are the incandescent type bulbs, will the...
i forget were i saw it, but it was a while ago, and there’s a chameleon that incubates the eggs/embryo inside her, and then gives birth to live chameleons in a sticky thing and it sticks to branch's in trees were she gives birth. Anyone know what kind of chameleon it is?
they dont stick to one kind of food, so they wont be eating only mealworms, i have a lot of diffrent insects that i feed them, the problem is that now i have way too many of the meal worms, i'll probably have to either feed most to birds, or flog on ebay. lol, or if i can get down to the pet...
i used to buy crickets in bulk, but got fed up with getting way too little for the money, so decided to go with mealworms, thought they would do the same and give me way less then stated, so i ordered 1.5kg, not realising that they actually would give me MORE! then they actually stated. so now...
with the whole leg changeing to white might just mean that it's shedding, check if you can see any puncture wounds, sometimes they will cause the surrounding skin to turn a paler colour.
i already went through all this in length in the initial thread that i opened when it happens, it was a lighting issue. everything has healed now, she just has some co-ordination problems, and the dead hardend skin in a small spot on her leg.
after my female veiled chameleon broke 2 of her rear legs and one of her front, and taking her to a vet, it's been over a year since she has had all the bandages off, and she still has trouble walking, or holding any weight, she seems to just flop onto her belly and not use her legs as much as...
