Hi, This is a follow up to thos thread here (which is dated from January this year.) https://www.chameleonforums.com/black-mark-nose-possible-burn-nose-rub-137919/ One of my male panthers was having an issue whereas he had some dryish, scab type of problem on one side of his nose. As you...

Chameleon acting strangely and odd colouring after moving enclosure

He had a shed not too long ago... I think it may be a combination of it being early in the morning (and being in a grump) and still adjusting to his new home!

Chameleon acting strangely and odd colouring after moving enclosure

No he cannot see any of them. I have all 4 Reptibreeze vivs in a row and have attached green bin liners to the sides and backs to prevent them seeing each other and to keep in the water and humidity. It is really odd as he is so, so chilled. The local reptile vet was amazed at how laid-back...

Chameleon acting strangely and odd colouring after moving enclosure

Hi, I have recently changed all of my vivariums from wooden to Reptibreeze (own 2 male panthers, 1 female panther and 1 male Yemen) and changed from combi-bulbs (UV and heat) to separate UV(T5 strips) and standard house halogen bulbs (70watt). I have noticed that all seem to be ok at the...

Black mark on nose. Possible burn or nose rub?

The vet said that it looked fine and that it was just the tail tip that would fall off. He did say though that if it did look to spread to come back but was looking fine at this stage.

Black mark on nose. Possible burn or nose rub?

I just thought I'd update this thread in case people have similar issues in the future. The vet thought he was nose rubbing but now he has stopped (maybe due to ambient temperature increase) and after a peel, his nose is as good as new! His tail tip looks like he has broken it somehow and...

Black mark on nose. Possible burn or nose rub?

Yeah I think that's probably whats happening. He wanders a lot. I've been applying antispetic cream to it that the vet gave me a while back for a poor;y tail so I'll persist with that. Is there anything else I can do to stop him doing it?

Black mark on nose. Possible burn or nose rub?

He has a large cage. It's about 40 inches high, 22" wide and 22" deep. He in single-handedley the most laid-back, friendly chameleon I have ever encountered and therefore he absolutely loves coming out so he is out quite alot. He does go round his cage a lot but I can't say I've ever noticed...

Black mark on nose. Possible burn or nose rub?

Hi, One of my male panthers has a black mark on the tip of his nose that doesn't seem to be shifting. It appeared a few months ago and seems to have got a little bit larger if anything. Here is a picture from a few months ago where you can just see a small mark on his right side of his nose...

    Slighty swollen lower lip

Hi, My baby panther (3-4 months old) has developed a slight misalignment on hiw lower lip on one side of his face. It's not massive but it's definitely noticeable. I'm not sure whether this is new or he has had it from birth. Is this something to be concerned about or is simply the way his...

Material to split vivarium in two

Hi! I am going to pick up a nice custom vivarium tomorrow for a couple of my chams and was thinking about splitting it in two. The vivarium is 39 inches high, 39 inches long and 18 inches in depth so if I put a splitter down the middle it will create two 39 x 18 x 18 vivariums. What sort...

    Baby Ambilobe Chameleon Sexing

Hi, I bought a very, very young panther chameleon a month or so ago from a breeder with many, many years experience. He assures me that my panther chameleon is male and I have also been advised from others that if he says it is a male, it is a male. My worry being that I cannot see a bulge...
