I ordered some Rephasy RescueCal+ liquid calcium, the one with added magnesium. I bookmarked it and have saved the link for months, ever since I first got my little girl. Because I knew I was going to be needing it. It will be here within 2 days. :o
My girl Molly is showing signs of laying any day now. I've covered her cage with a green sheet and I put a laying bin in for her. She's been sitting next to the laying bin but hasnt got in it. She's VERY tired and worn out. Earlier today she was laying on a branch with ther eyes closed. And I...
As juveniles, their sheds will be all at once and they can probably finish a full shed in a day. But as they mature their body's will grow and their skin will become thicker, so it won't be as easy for them to shed like their taking off a new winter coat. They'll shed their tails one day, next...
I would fill a dripper up so it will drip for a good hour and a half right before you leave in the morning. So then your cham will feel more stimulated to drink since there isnt people moving around, or a misting system shaking the cage lol. I would use a dripper everyday and not rely on misting...
Finally got the frame done. Im off to work unfortunately so ill be back tommorow to update you all even further.
We braced each part where the boards connected with steel braces and also screws inside of the wood (picture 5) into the other boards. Tommorow I will have it mainly done. I just...
If you got the branch/stick fresh off a tree, and it didnt have any fungi, or holes in it. Like a sappling's branch. Than a good soak and rinse should do the job. If its a branch that has holes in it from bugs burrowing in it, than I would bake it at 350^F for like 20 minutes and you should be good.
And I kind of find it funny that I've been building an outdoor enclosure and I decided to share it with everyone, but now I've been dragged back into the forums nostalgic feeling of cham's :P and its holding me back from building lol
I still have her in a 16x16x20 at the moment. I didnt wana try and renovate half of her play/hunting room with a huge 5 gallon bucket :/
I'll keep and eye on her Jann, I'll let you guys know.
She seems fine right now. What are some signs of egg bound?
Because ever since I've woken her up...
Well I woke up around 10 this morning and saw my girl, Molly, near the bottom of her cage just looken around. I'd been getting mentally prepared for her to lay but she hasnt really seemed to of shown to many signs of laying besides this morning.
I went out back to work on my outdoor...
I'll be posting progress pic's sometime today.
Progress is crawling by since its been raining so much and I just cant handle the humidity outside for to long. And trying to drill these wooden post together on a not level patio is VERY frustrating. I've had to go back and start over on a few...
My step dad pointed this out to me because he used it as the windows for his chicken house he built. I'll probably just zip tie all the loose ends together since the fenced sides will be 6 ft tall, and I'll be adding a door in along the side.
And just throwen it out there, I bought all the...
That is a good option :3 I'll look into that for sure.
Alright well that takes care of the branches problem as well :)
Well I'm going to stop by our plant nursery we have in town (chameleon owners dream palace) and pick up a ficus, schefflera, and a hibiscus.
But before I do that, I'm...
Thanks for the info Olimpia :P
I went to Menards and found alot of different metal mesh's. Some are just square patterns and just thin metal bars running up and down. I thought those would work good but I'm pretty sure they would get a little rusty :/
Would chicken wire rust?
& would...
I like the idea of the plastic chains and sticks! Thanks for sharing, I could put those along the top, next to the hanging rings along the support beam and dangle some sticks around. Thanks!
And yes I'll be bringing them in at night. But I sure plan for them to be out there all day
And perhaps some ideas for the massive amount of sticks I'm going to be putting in there, I would rather it all be bought online in bulk for cheap and thin and sturdy enough to not poke holes in the screening.
Links to some good websites would be kicken :P
Everyone needs to use a little imagination on this one :P
Its going to be a 8 ft tall , 6 ft wide, and 4 ft in depth, screened outdoor enclosure.
All AC2 treated lumber.
The second picture shows how long the enclosure will be. Thats the 4 ft depth sticking up in the air :P (the part laying...
Thanks you all :D
I forgot helpful and nice this forum was lol
Im visiting some family right now and have my mom on chameleon duty : l
Lord help us
And yes I see her drink every morning when I get out of the shower after filling the dripper up before I got in
Yesterday before I left, I saw...
Yeah its a little gross. She dropped it probably when she was sitting in the sun from the window, before I got back home
But I've seen some red tinted poo 3 times on & off for a week or so.
I started giving warm misting sessions along with increased mist king intervals. I have it set for...
the water that was hitting him felt around what you would wash your hands with comftorably, not scalding hot. The lights were all on in the bathroom, it wasnt dark what so ever behind the glass door. Idk he is a lil bit of a baby. He might of tried to just calm him self down, he hadnt been in...
