    Sexing High-Casqued Chameleon

Another high-casqued I'm not sure about! I thought female, but because of the colours I'm not so sure. Photos attached.

How do you ship a chameleon?

It suddenly occured to me to wonder how breeders ship their chameleons... (Just to clarify, I'm not wanting to ship one myself.) How do you package them? I suppose you can only send them if the destination isn't more than 24 hours away? Has anyone here ever had chameleon get injured / die from...

I think you're right. Any idea how old it may be?

    Sexing High-Casqued Chameleon

I think this young high-casqued (von Hohnel's / helmeted) chameleon is a male, but I'm not sure. I found it (wild) a few days ago, and took a few photos...unfortunately I didn't take any shots of the base of its tail, but perhaps somebody could give me an opinion just from its head? I have some...

General Personality Differences of Jackson, Panther and Veiled (Just a Discussion)

I've only had Jackson's, out of that list. It really differs from chameleon to chameleon - but I'd say that in my experience, males are more friendly. (I've had very friendly females, but the majority of friendlier ones have been male.)

    Rudis maybe????

Everybody is being so harsh! I'm 16 and I've loved chameleons since I found my first wild one, at 10. Right from then I've been catching and keeping them and it so happens that children CAN look after something as delicate as a chameleon. I know a lot of eight year olds who are far more...

    Which species?

I believe it's a female flap-necked, after further research. Can anyone confirm?

    Back-Spikes

Thanks! No, I'm not concerned about anything. I was just wondering because there are lots of chameleons in my garden and I like to give them names and tell each one apart. And just yesterday I found one which looked VERY similar to another, apart from the spikes on his back were slightly...

    Back-Spikes

You know those spikes along a chameleon's back? I was wondering if they stayed in the same position from birth until death? Or can they change when the chameleon moults etc?

    Which species?

Can anyone tell me which species of chameleon this is, and whether it's a male or female? Found near Mombasa, in Kenya. Its colours vary from pale green to green with black spots, black rosettes, a few speckles of pink or white and, when angry, a white throat lined with...

    Papaya smells!!!

Yes, I've noticed that too. Glad I'm not the only one! The rest of my family seems to think it's fine...but yuck.

    Chameleon Fights

Oh, I don't know about them being more agressive. Certainly not more agressive with people (at least from what I've read on here, lol) - but maybe panthers and veileds are more agressive than Jackson's and von Hohnel's. I think Apollo's just fierce, drat him ♥ I found a new chameleon today...

    Chameleon Fights

Oh, and to answer your post (which for some reason I didn't see before I posted mine?), I don't buy my chameleons, I find them in my garden and I catch their food by hand. And, like I said, I didn't know they could be THAT territorial. I had them on a large bush with huge leaves, and Apollo...

    Chameleon Fights

This has been very helpful, thank you! I think Thor's fine, but I'll keep an eye on him. There's a slight triangular mark (well, triangular but without the base) on his leg now, but he's not moping around, his colours are fine and he's using the leg properly.

    asap please identify

The first one's definitely a panther, and I'm pretty sure the second one is too. Just for the record, another reddish-coloured female Jackson's: (image (c) me)

    Chameleon Fights

No, I admit that the second post wasn't just innocent curiosity. But the first one was. *sigh* I must have jinxed things by asking, lol. I had two males on a bush yesterday, trying to photograph each one alternatively. I didn't know they could be THAT territorial; one of the males (Apollo)...
