One panther chameleon (8 months). I get 150 crickets a week. So 600 crickets a month. Damn that's a lot. I didn't think Dexter ate that much. And I give him treats too. =P
The UVB and the 5000k daylight bulbs are probably housed together and the normal halogen bulb on a heat dome.
UVB is for the chameleon (should be replaced every 6 months).
5000k daylight bulb for the plant.
Normal halogen bulb is the heat source.
All should be on the same timer. No light...
Haha. All good.
Top left there's a tab for FORUM. Click on that. Then it is categorized from there (general discussion, food, health clinic, enclosures). When you enter one of those there's a "New Thread" button on the top.
Yep. Exactly what I want too. Their substrate tray might work. Just need to think of a way to add an extra tier/level in the enclosure. Keep the plants and rest of the stuff elevated and the tray at the bottom...so you can just pull it out and dump the water when needed.
If anybody have any...
Not part of his growth progression. I just like these pics.
Getting some tan on.
Expanding his free range territory...to the curtains.
Spot the panther.
Thank you thank you! Gorgeous and spoiled. My bachelor pad has become a bit domesticated since his arrival. I have a ficus tree in my living room now, for crying out loud!! =D
Thank you.
I think I'll stick with just the enclosure and hold off on the tray for now. And I'll probably use the substrate tray that goes inside to collect water. I just imagine it'll be difficult to lift up the enclosure everytime I want to toss the water out being that it'll be anchored by...
Appreciate the quick reply, guys.
So, basically, I still need to step up a drainage system for it? I was hoping it was something that slides out so you can just throw the collected water in the sink. Someone should really make an enclosure like that....and mass produce it. It'll make a bunch...
Has anyone here used the water trays sold by LLL Reptile? I'm planning on upgrading my chameleon's enclosure and I'm leaning towards the LLL Reptile enclosure if their water trays work. I have a MistKing set up but I only have it run for 45 seconds every 3 hours because I don't want it flooding...
I wished I saw your thread prior to ordering them. I just bought them because I hear good things about them. I fed Dexter 2 butterworms yesterday. I fed him crickets earlier before leaving work but I didn't notice anything peculiar about him. I'll take a better look when I get home from work...
That's actually not a bad idea. I'll pass by a convenience store after work. Keep those worms out of sight. When my friends come over, they all like my panther chameleon. But they think I'm weird for having crickets and worms around. Like I keep those as pets. Hehe.
How about the Phoenix worms? The wax worms and the Phoenix worms are very similar.I put them on the same container. Because the Phoenix worms came with nicer "bedding'.
Gah. I put all except the super worms on the fridge. I gave the meal worms to my cousin (for his bearded dragon). I guess I'll take the rest out of the fridge when I get home from work. I hope they"re not all dead.
I just bought a feeder package online. It consists of 110 crickets, 100 phoenix worms, 100 meal worms, 50 super worms, and 50 wax worms. I also bought some butter worms in addition.
I was just wondering which worms I can put in the fridge. I only have one chameleon and use worms mainly as...
Hey. How's it going?
Three things I noticed it your husbandry that you might want to change: feeding, gut loading, and supplementing.
FEEDING - If you're chameleon is still young (less than a year old), you might want to feed it everyday and even 2x a day. But not too late during the day.
GUT...
