    Another disappointing petsmart visit...

I agree, at the petsmart near me there are two chameleons that are about 6 months old in 2.5 gallon enclosures and I am surprised that I chose to buy my cham there but I guess I did a good thing because with those conditions my Cham would be dead had I not bought it. But it is really depressing...

Sorry I haven't been on the forums recently, all caught up with planning a reef aquarium, anyway I'm going away for the summer and having a friend take care of my chameleon and I'm wondering what the most portable cage is, so I can drop my chameleon off at his house. Oh yeah and I don't want...

    Java Moss and Chams

Java moss is a type of moss used mainly in aquariums but also can be used on land, and it is only stringy if no animal is keeping it matted down by walking on it, I'm more worried that it may be potentially dangerous because it is never listed as a chameleon safe plant. Has anybody else tried...

Can I use a moss substrate?

Hi Thanks for the response, it is a male veiled chameleon, and the moss was more for looks. I figure it would just be more sanitary, and easier to make the cage look really nice with plants and decorations.

Can I use a moss substrate?

I am well aware of the huge impaction risk, but I was wondering if I could use live moss as a substrate. I cup feed my cham, and I do have a bottle of mineral oil for any time my cham could get impaction. Also the moss type I'm thinking about is not the loose moss (sphagnum moss.) I would...

    Best Live Plants :)

I would definitely recommend Hibiscus trees. They are pretty, and your cham will love eating the flowers or leaves. Here is a link as to where you can get them http://emeraldgoddessgardens.com/hibiscus/

    natural tree fern background

Hello I have Exo Terra tree fern panels and they work great, better yet they grow ferns and mosses on them after a few days with a mister that mists them at least twice a day or you manually misting them at least 3 times a day. But the one problem is that they are sort of small.
