Every cham is different. I spend all my time in the same room as my chameleon and while I do have a fairly dim lamp on all the time, there have been times i've had to turn on the very bright main light and this hasn't woken him up.

Well this is what i'm asking when I mentioned about them being attracted to the heat source etc.

There's no vents or anything in the room, just a window that i'd keep closed and the door, I wouldn't let him go round the whole apartment! He probably wouldn't come out anyway! he seems to like it too much in there :)

This is what i've found. Once you have the setup right they're really not all the time consuming, expensive or majorly difficult to look after. As long as you do tons of research beforehand you'll be ok. The only major expense you'll have will be vet bills. Get a roach colony six months...
