    What colour gloves?

I just did a trial run of getting him out like the method in the video teaches. I started moving my hand under his chin and stroking it a little, he didn't mind that, in fact he almost seemed to like it. Then I put my hand under further and lifted but I hesitated, I dunno why i'm so nervous...

    What colour gloves?

He's a veiled. I think i'm just being too much of a wuss lol. I've had him since November last year and he hasn't really hissed much at all, in fact i'd say less than 10 times and he lives in the same room as me.

    What colour gloves?

I have to move house soon and I will need to take Isambard out of his cage for this. I very rarely handle him, except when he walks onto my hand by choice. He's still only quite small but I will openly admit here that I am a wuss. I have never taken him out against his will, i've looked at...

What if you're a night owl/keep weird hours?

Every cham is different. I spend all my time in the same room as my chameleon and while I do have a fairly dim lamp on all the time, there have been times i've had to turn on the very bright main light and this hasn't woken him up.

Size of a one year old veiled?

Ah ok, so lots of growing left yet then! On the subject of his handsomeness :D Is that colour he's showing OK? The reason I ask is because he's that sort of shade most of the day, maybe a bit lighter. When that pic was taken the camera unnerved him a bit I think, but all day he's colour is...

Size of a one year old veiled?

Here's my little pal, Isambard: I uploaded a pic of me holding him, which is a rare occasion, to give an idea of his actual size. I've read chameleons generally reach full size at a year old but not sure how true this is. I can't help thinking Isambard is a bit small for his age and...

    Open Mouth Basking?

How old is your cham? Babies are pretty useless at moving themselves out the heat and usually just sit there, even if it's far too hot, gaping is usually a way of expelling heat. My cham used to almost constantly bask when he was a nipper, now he's a year old and he hardly basks much at all, he...

    Moving house

That's the plan, it's about a 3hour drive I have to go on. It's more the getting him out of the cage that I have the concern with.

    Moving house

I have read lots of threads on this subject and have decided to put him in a shoe box with paper towels on the bottom and some holes punched in the top for air flow, is this ok? My main reason for this thread is actually getting him out of his cage. I've had Isambard for nearly a year and...

    Letting him wander around

Well this is what i'm asking when I mentioned about them being attracted to the heat source etc.

    Letting him wander around

There's no vents or anything in the room, just a window that i'd keep closed and the door, I wouldn't let him go round the whole apartment! He probably wouldn't come out anyway! he seems to like it too much in there :)

    Letting him wander around

I am moving into my own place in September, no more sharing with strangers for me :D. Isamabard will of course be coming with me and will be housed in the living room. As there's no one in the house but me and as I can actually put all my stuff (which aint much) in different rooms, and...

    Toilet issues

My cham is the same age as yours but male, i'm also in the UK. I had the same problem a couple of months ago, he didn't go for about 10 days! This is apparently not entirely abnormal. If you can't get her into water just give her a good soaking with warm water from your mist bottle, I did that...

    Not eating much

Ha, yeah cause I really have £300 knocking around for one of them, no problem! The setup in that thread looks rather cool though.

    Not eating much

I read that some yellow is pretty much unavoidable, it really is only a tiny amount of yellow at the the tip. Thanks for your reply though.

    Not eating much

My chameleon is only eating tow or three roaches/superworms every other day. He seems OK though, just don't want him going without. Also I still can't quite get supplementing right. It seems no matter how much or little I dust he has the white crust coming out of his nose. I now dust his...

Worth it to get a chameleon?

This is what i've found. Once you have the setup right they're really not all the time consuming, expensive or majorly difficult to look after. As long as you do tons of research beforehand you'll be ok. The only major expense you'll have will be vet bills. Get a roach colony six months...
