So my cornsnake (11 months old) is the greediest little thing, normally. On 2 occasions he has escaped and eaten my hamsters (I now have a lock on his viv & my last hamster has a new, safe home)
2 weeks ago I gave him a frozen day old chick (thawed), the next week he didn't want his mouse...
his favourite food is adult dubia roaches & locusts. He eats me out of house and home but I love him for it.
The vet said it'd be ok to put him out in the garden for natural sunshine, but I'm not sure he enjoys it
More and more dead skin has come away from Riker's burn but the wound is clean and I continue to treat him twice a day with iodine and silverdine. There's no sign of infection. He flinches with the iodine but he is very good. He continues to eat well, gain weight and I have his basking temp in...
We're hoping that hand-rearing will make him very used to people, but at the same time, we're prepared to be sprayed before he learns to trust us. We just don't want him to spray our cat, so we'll be very careful with the introductions, poor puss just wants to be friends with everyone. This is...
love it!! one of my guys shed and left a little cresite 'onesie' for me to see. I'm sure they've shed since then and eaten it. That's a keeper for sure!
It's illegal to have them de-scented in the UK, it's deemed as purely cosmetic. I'm ok with that, I don't agree with de-clawing cats, docking dog's tails, etc. If he trusts me, he won't spray :) & they give plenty of warning when they're not happy
I'm hoping to get a skunk. I've chosen a kit from a litter but sadly, mum ran out of milk so they are being hand-reared. It's touch & go for them, but I'm really routing for the fella! My OH is also very excited, which is nice. We're looking forward to seeing him play with my cat (all going well...
he had a vet visit last week, & she thought he was well (in spite of the thermal burn I'm treating him for), I think the pet shop were under feeding him. I'll keep an eye on his weight though over the next few weeks, I think he's slowing down. Considering they are the 2nd largest chameleon in...
at first he was getting through 20-30 extra large locusts per day, he's slowed down now. Today he ate 8 large silkworms and about 6 extra large dubia roaches.
I'll do that for you in the morning :). To be honest, I have very little information on him. I got him from a reptile shop who could only tell me he was CB & imported from Germany, they had him about 3 months before I took him home. He's gone from 150g to 400g in 4 months.
They're such a...
I don't know their age, but I'd guessimate a year
Riker ast week, at 400g
When I brought him home in January, 150g
His sister, the same age, currently 150g
I have a pygmy & a carpet. I'd say go for a carpet. They're hardier & u can handle them. Pygmys are easily stressed & can drop dead for no apparent reason, I've lost 2 that way. Also, carpets have fascinating patterns
