Live worm parasites usually don't live in the soil as adults which is what would be seen in a really infested animal in their feces, adults grow and mature inside the animal, what is usually in the soil as far as parasites go are eggs and you cannot see them unless you have micorscopic vision...
Looks like you have a baby, it looks like something internal, most likely a fracture or something, since it looks like its at the end of its ribs. It can be due to MBD. Should definitely get some radiographs done. Since you said its gone now, keep an eye on it if it returns!!
