Chameleons don't automatically lay eggs at a set age. She might be sexually mature but, as I understand it, different factors play into when a chameleon lays eggs. My year old vieled hasn't yet laid either. I'm not worried as she doesn't show signs of being egg bound.
It fits on the self that the original screen sat on and then it's zip tied on. It'll be slightly annoying if I have to do maintenance on the top half but it's only for 7 months till I move into a new apartment.
Addition competed! Took an afternoon and cost about $80 including the big ficus tree. Total dimension increased from 18 x 18 x 24 to 18 x 18 x 52. Should make coco more comfy until her giant mansion is completed haha.
So I'm in the process of building a huge furniture grade enclosure. However, it's not looking like I will have enough room for it in my current apartment so for the interim time I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to add on a screen "box" to the top of my Exoterra for a little bit of extra...
Scratch what I previously said. I came back from thanksgiving and my monsoon was all but broken. Bought a mistking Monday and it just arrived yesterday. I set it up immediately and couldn't be more impressed. It's a way better system. I did manage to retrofit the monsoon reservoir to work with...
Hey all lately I've noticed a lot of threads bashing petco as providing inadequate setups. I had to stop by my local petco to pick up a new UV bulb and on the way I noticed they had Chams for the first time. I'm pleased to announce that they had a decent Cham set up with a dropper and...
I guess I'm the only one to have good success with a monsoon. Mine came with my Cham as I got her from craigslist with a complete setup. Mines been trouble free for 7 months now. I did have to remove the in line filter as it was clogged, but other than that no issues. That being said if I were...
I would add a lot more vertical branches for climbing as well as more plants for cover. I'm not sure what that light is but it appears to be inside the enclosure. If so, get that out of there Chams will climb on it and burn themselves. Also, you don't need a night light. They interfere with...
Yep already cut out the top for lighting but it's hidden from view by the crown molding. And I'll get picks of the drainage system next time I'm around it.
It still needs the screens and a few more coats of poly urethane to water proof it but what so you guys think? Dimensions will be 48" height x 42" wide x 25" deep and there is a central drainage system set up as well.
I'm a noob to chams but you can keep Chams outdoors and many members on here do so. However, the temperatures you list seem a bit high for a veiled cham and I'm guessing the humidity levels will also be in the high range for a veiled as well. You could do a outdoor setup for part of the time...
You do not need a heat source at night if your apartment is kept at 75 degrees. As for drinking, I've yet to actually see mine drink either but I've had her since may and she shows no signs of dehydration so she must be drinking something. Also, you should ditch the substrate in the bottom of...
So I'm fairly new to Chams but I thought I'd free range my female veiled after reading up on them. I set up a free range for her and she started to sort of desocialize. She stopped taking food from my hand and cup and started turning dark brown as soon as I walked in the room. Well she...
I just completed the swap from glass to screen doors. It might not have been necessary but I like to entertain myself with small projects like that. It looks like it was purchased that way. If you're still interested I can do a wright up for you.
