A few questions - Sex, Feces, Cage

Just a follow up on the prior postings. Thanks for the feedback folks. -I removed the compact Reptiglo 10.0 UVB and moved the household incandescent to the top of the cage for a better basking point. Just to make sure, the compact UVBs are too bright but a 60 watt incandescent should be ok...

A few questions - Sex, Feces, Cage

I have all of those minus the plant bulb. It is near a window (but far enough back that the coolness outside should not affect it) so I figured the natural light would help. All the lights are outside of the cage, just some are positioned to the side instead of on top (the only one up there is...

    Misting Problems

I mist 3-4 minuets at a time at least twice a day. I have a dripper that runs, but I never see him drinking from it. I think he's kind of confused by it, but I wouldnt be surprided if he got sips while I was away.

What does your spouse (etc) think

My fiancee was the one who helped convince me to get mine. She loves the little guy, she wont touch his food... lol but she loves the thing that matters.

    Misting Problems

So, I would like to start by saying Peppers, my Senegal, hates being misted. I try to spray his cage twice or more times a day, and he just climbs away from where I am spraying very frantically. He just closes his eyes and starts flailing his arms till he grabs something, which has made him...

    Kiwi Berry, Mandavilla, Trumpet Vines?

Did a little reading. All reports say Mandavilla is not necessarily poisonous, but is related to poisonous plants and suspected to be. Kiwi berry is not and trumpet is not (Make sure its trumpet vine and not angel trumpet or a similar plant because they are fairly dangerous.) These reports...

    Kiwi Berry, Mandavilla, Trumpet Vines?

Thanks for the replies. I didnt think of the end of the season sales on plants. Might be a good time to start purchasing. I would still like to use some plants I already have available here if possible, but if no one knows if they are poisonous or not I'll probably avoid it. The cage is...

    Kiwi Berry, Mandavilla, Trumpet Vines?

So I'm trying to avoid spending a whole lot of money right now since Im out of a job. Im trying to change out the plants in my cham's cage since Philodendrons and ivy are a no no. I have already placed tree limbs in the cage for my chameleon to climb up, but I need some green. I would like to...

    LIVE PLANTS lol

I have heart shaped philodendron... and English ivy... I think its time to go plant shopping... Im sad to see my phil is dangerous, because I really like how tough those plants are... Poor Peppers is going to throw a fit when I take away all his plants.

    What is my new baby?

I would say from the single stripe and thin'ish tail that it would be female, but i don't have much chameleon experience at this point. And yeah, i would say its younger than 5 months. Good luck

    Cham Throat

My Senegal will do it when he is basking outside. I think it helps to get the tongue out of the way so they can open their mouth and regulate body heat. Other than that i have to agree with defense and swallowing reflexes.

    LIVE PLANTS lol

This is more of an alternative than a solution. Philodendrons are nice and simple. They climb up anything you place in a cage. You can create whatever you want shapewise and then place a phil on the floor of the cage and let it grow. They grow quick and double as connecting vines from one place...

What is the best Plant To House Inside!!!

I haven't tried raising a tree or bush type plant, but Philodendrons climb up anything you place in a cage. You can create whatever you want shapewise and then place a phil on the floor of the cage and let it grow. They grow quick and double as connecting vines from one place to another. The...

Please help my cham ate a wasp!

I would imagine that many species of chameleons have built up an immunity to most stings and bites. Mine stays away from brightly colored butterflies and wasps. He will refuse to eat wasps even if I present them by hand (with the stinger clipped) and anything in my hand is almost immediately...

Please help my cham ate a wasp!

Wow! Thats a pretty big wolf. I would be afraid of it throwing a defensive bite while your chameleon was reeling it in or starting to eat it. I don't feed my chameleon spiders for that reason, but I have seen where a lot of people do feed chams spiders with no ramifications. Bet they're pretty...

    Hello! New Member from UK

I agree. Some chameleons are more stubborn than others. I forgot to mention about the water, this is a good idea as well. I found that my Peppers loves to drink out of a pipette so he is always scampering towards me when I open the door. A final note: if you really want to attempt to speed up...
