Currently I have a cut half gallon milk jug with some screening affixed to the sides for my feeding container so the crickets and what not can climb around. I hand feed my cham worms most of the time if she actually wants them. Is there an effective way to display worms in a cage that they'll...
So it sounds like mine could be right about there. They usually start hanging/digging around the bottom of their cage when they're looking for someplace to lay right?
I just recently found out that my cham is actually a female and not a male so I was wondering how old they have to be before they can begin producing eggs. I just want to be able to make sure I have the appropriate setup for her should she wind up with some eggs and nothing to do with them.
Yeah that's how it was when I first brought my cham home, different spots around the cage every night. The past 4 or 5 days or so she starts to get settled in the new spot at about the same time frame as yours sensation, about half an hour or so before it's bed time. I call my cham a champion...
Well it seems a new name is in order then, hmm. How old do they have to be before they can start possibly laying eggs? That's something I'll eventually have to prepare for now despite there being no male right?
My girlfriend actually took the picture. She has taken quite the fascination with...
Hmm, might call for a name change then. I got her? from a petsmart since that's really the only place to get a cham locally when they're in stock and I was told that they generally only sell animals of 1 sex at a particular store, not sure how true that is but hence the male assumption. I just...
The people at the pet store couldn't give me too clear of an indication of how old he really is. From what I've read here and other places it seems like he's maybe a few months old? The picture's a few weeks old and he's gotten a little bigger but not anything too substantial.
That's good to know then! I try not to hold him too much 'cause I don't wanna stress him out, but I want him to be familiar. I would eventually like to just be able to hold him from time to time once he's older without him gettin overly angry or biting me or something. Had a cham in the past...
I know chameleons are pretty antisocial by nature but I was wondering can they actually get used to an individual? He(Fred) y'know sees me every day and I try to take him out probably every couple to every other day for at least a few minutes and let him crawl around on my hand. He seems to...
How are moths and butterflies? I have a ton of them around my house when the weather gets nice out. I already can't wait for the weather to get warmer to go catch grasshoppers.
I made a milk jug container and I feel like it's better than letting them free roam with the way I have my cage set up. Crickets and worms can move around and climb up the screen I have affixed to the back of it and can't escape. Although I do have to cut the crickets back legs off so they...
Alright, thanks. I was kind of figuring it wasn't necessary since my cham kills anythinghe eats before he swallows it anyway, just wanted to make sure though. Plus cutting their heads off is kind of gross to be perfectly honest.
What makes superworms so much better nutritionally than mealworms? They seem like just larger versions.
I was also wondering, is it actually true that you have to cut their heads off before you feed them?
