Just thought I would post pics of all my kids. This is how I spend my days, catering to my spoiled brats. They are mostly rescues.
These are my geckos
Pudge
Morgan who lost his tail and back foot
Crunch, he has a sweet face.
My pack of ferrets. Getting all 8 in one shot...
So I figured I better post some pics of the babies so everyone can see how they are coming along. Tholus who is one of Kent's little ones has been showing amazing colors. The pics do not do him justice and they definately don't show the full range of colors he has but its a start. Kent you...
He looks great. Babies are thin as they grow so fast. I would feed more crickets and less mealworms. Also make sure you are feeding your crickets vegetables and fruit before feeding them to your cham if you don't already.
I would mist less and drip more for the humidity problem. His poop should be a small dark brown or black thing with a white end. It is very hard to find when they are that small. Try looking on the leaves under the area he sits most in the morning. I do cup feeding with all my chams, just use a...
Who could not love that sweet little face. We will see what our guy thinks but I am definately going to wait until he is bigger. Hes a tiny little guy. Seems to be doing fine. He ate and drank plenty today so he has settled in great.
Its still messed up but the vet thinks its a birth defect. Doesn't seem to bother him at all and he uses it. Hes a sweetie and I think it gives him character.:)
I can't tell her size from the photo but the bin should be large enough for her to be able to turn around in. 14" should be plenty deep, just make sure the soil is moist enough to hold a tunnel. She may not be ready. If she is still eating and has a strong grip I wouldn't worry. Her coloring...
Do you have a egg laying bucket in there for her? Try not to handle her unless you have to especially if she carrying eggs. She will want total privacy to lay.
I cup feed at about the same time everyday and mine do not like being watched. I only use crickets and silkworms as staples and hormworms as a variety feeder. Try giving some privacy and see if that helps.
As far as the feeding, I prefer to cup feed especially if it is a young chameleon. You put a small plastic bowl or cup where they have good access to it and put their food in it.
Dripper will just do slow drops of water, it should be setup so it will drip on the leaves. They should also be...
Sorry, been working the last couple of days. Yes I know for sure on the write off. I work for a chain, shouldn't say which one. They consider it a normal part of business. I had several discussions with my boss especially when I first started there because I hate when any of the animals die. I...
Once again I am frustrated with the attitude people have on rescuing chams from stores. I think most of us are here because we have a love of chameleons and yet so many are willing to turn away from one in need. They say if we don't buy them they will stop selling them. I have been working at a...
Definately try to feed her and you may want to try cup feeding at least until she is stronger. Make sure to dust with calcium and keep her hydrated. She doesn't look too bad, should be able to pull her out of it.
Glad to hear you got her and hope you can nurse her to recovery. I know everyone thinks its bad to buy them but I will never agree with that line of thought. Its how I got my first Cham and he survived. Letting a animal suffer is never the answer and letting them die won't stop them from...
