I don't know. The blue is too much to ignore for me. I have seen pics on here of females with coloration. Oddly it does not really show up in the photo. I have been talking to my Panthers siblings owner on here. He also got his Panther from Tom. They were sure it was a female until a week or so...
OK, I have thrown this up a few times on here, but I think I finally got a good pic for reference. Quick recap, bought this Baby Nosy Be as a female, but the breeder ( Tom Kilgour ) thought she might be a he. I am really starting to agree. The pic does not show it very well but the baby's head...
LOL! OK so I think I have a male. I just looked at your Pics of Leo and my Nosy looks just like him with the same facial colorations. Leo just turned 5 months, and mine is 4 months. Being that they are brothers they look like carbon copies! I have not seen any crazy color flashes like you got...
OK so I have posted up a few times about my problem with my young Nosy Be Panther. Just a quick recap. Got her from a local breeder, he thought she was a female but then when I picked her up he was not entirely sure. I got her at 3 months old. She is now 4 months old. Tale base aside for this...
Cool! How old is he? I'm still having trouble sexing my Panther as well. Breeder sold her to me as a female but then admitted he was not positive when I picked her up and that it might be a boy. I'm seeing subtle coloration coming in on mine, of course this does not necessarily mean its a boy...
Yeah, actually have not tried to introduce any other feeders yet. It's possible. I don't though, going from eating 12 a day to none seems awful sudden for cricket distaste, but it's still possible. I'll what happens tomorrow. Really thinking it may be a shed coming on.
Really? That's cool. Hmmm, you know what, she may be due for a shed. I'm not real familiar with shed cycle times, but she has not shed for 2 1/2 - 3 weeks. And I noticed it looks like she has a small flap of skin peeling near her mouth as well.
OK so I have a 4 month old female Nosy Be Panther. She has been in my care for 1 month now and I have been free-ranging her crickets. I put 20 in the cage and I pull all of the un-eaten ones out at the end of the day and dispose of them. I have been keeping meticulous records of how many go in...
Cool! Thanks everyone. And thanks Kinyonga, I am doing everything on your list so I am good to go. I am even using the same exact supplements as you. So I will continue the dusting schedule as usual. Just wanted to make sure I was giving my baby everything she needed.
Thanks!
Ok, so I have a 3 1/2 month old baby Nosy Be Panther. I have been reading a lot of mixed ideas on what is best for supplement dusting. I have mainly read the you want to dust with Calcium +D3 -Phos 2 times a month. Dust with Clacium -D3 -Phos everyday and Multi-vite 2 times a month. But I have...
That's cool. Yeah she seems to be doing great. Urate looks snow white and as awesome as can be. Pooping regularly, I could set my watch to it LOL! I guess I'll just keep weighing her every week and see what happens. Just a bit freaked out is all. I am still relatively new to Chams and I lost my...
Im so sorry to hear about, Bo! I read this whole thread today and was hoping for the best. I was in a similar situation a month ago and my Cham died as well. It hurts really bad to lose them. They are amazing animals!
Hello, everyone. I recently got a female baby Nosy Be Cham about 2 weeks ago and I have been free ranging her. I have been told to weigh her when free ranging to make sure she is gaining weight. I guess I just need some opinions on proper weight gain. Now I admit I did not weight her when I...
So so sorry. I lost a Cham a few weeks ago and it is heart breaking. I know what you mean when you are not sure if they are completely dead. It is very hard to tell if they are still breathing. When my Cham was all the way passed her tailed curled up as tight as it could go and she became stiff.
So did your young Cham actually go the whole week without eating before they dared feed form the cup or how many days did it take for them to actually eat something from the cup?
Lots of cool ideas. Thanks! I guess the biggest concern I have is I know they probably will go a few days before they get hungry enough to eat out of the cup. How many days is too many for a 3 month old to go without eating? I actually have a shallow cup in there now, but I have a stick leading...
I attempted cup feeding for 2 days and she never touched one cricket, so it freaked me out and I went back to free range. I would honestly prefer to cup feed but I was told not to try it until they are 6 months old? I dont know. If you have any advice on cup feeding it would be appreciated.
