Place on the outside of the top of the cage. Make sure the top is mesh though and not glass Uvb cant pass thru glass. Check the temps also you dont want the cham to get a burn if the bulb is too close to his/her basking branch.
If its a male panther or veiled, yes it can grow to between 10-12" snout to vent. Most are at that size by about a yr. Some take longer to grow though, and you could have a runt in which case he may only get from 9-10" snout to vent. Depends on genetics and frequency and amount of feeders...
I know its about time Texas gets something like this. We have alot of reptile enthus her. Wish you could come Ferret would have liked to meet you in person.
I was planning on attending the meeting on Fri. I really wanted to learn more about Cites laws and importing & exporting regulations. Hope I can meet you at the conference Dr O.
I'd would have said well then its a good thing that Jacksonni dont lay eggs bro. "they give birth to live young". So no worries! Just shows the guy didnt know what the hell he was talking about. Typcal pet store employee/owner.
If you can id the hopper and it was caught in a pesticide free location then its ok.
I hold all wc bugs overnight and feed them before feeding them to my chams.
i have fed wc bugs for 15yrs. I have not had isssues with parasites from wc bugs.
I did the show last yr. I was going to do it this yr but I dont think I will because my babies wont be ready by Sept 29th. :( They hatched about a month too late....
I'll still go though its the best show houston has every yr.
Great news Jann! If they do hatch I want a Padre boy. Im ready for a parson now...
Good luck with the laying & incubation. And give Hera a big juicy silk or horn she'll need it.
Well the proof is in the pics right. lol These are my latest faly offspring. They just hatched last week. 100% hatch rate ppl last one popped out yesterday!
The sire is Razr he is a son of Raiden/Nala from Chameleon Nation. These are going to be stunning falys from the best bloodlines. :D
Lee/Texas Ranger has some stunning falys.
I also have some babies from my wc male "the professor" currently & some babies just hatched from my Razr my Raiden male from Drew @ Cham Nation. ;)
I dont think I could feed those off. Too cool looking to use as a feeder. Heck I cant even feed off Luna moths cuz they are so cool. I know I'd wanna keep that little guy as a pet. lol
Like laurie said put him outside. He can be in the shade and still get some uvb rays. It should be cool enough if hes in shaded light and in a screened cage for him to go outside for at least 2 hrs a day. Also you can mist his cage heavily when hes out there and that will help with the heat also.
Thanks man. What really got me was I babied her and waited and waited to breed her. She was about 14 mos and I was going to breed her clutchmate/sister first then her. Those were the only two females I kept from last yrs clutches. So now Im short a female and Im po'd cause I didnt notice...
