Thanks! :D He loves his new digs! He hasn't wanted to come out of the cage since we put him in there, where before he wanted out almost daily. Spoiled little bugger XD
It's very easy to determine if a veiled is male or female - even as hatchlings. Males have a spur (lump) on their back feet, in between their toes. I posted a picture of Mr.Pink's. https://www.chameleonforums.com/veiled-chameleons-picture-male-foot-spur-114172/
If the chameleon does not...
Yes, chams will change their behaviors, eating patterns, and skin as they age.
Male chameleons show the colour differences the most - baby veileds are often a solid pale green with a few hints at a pattern (bars). As they age, and thus shed, the brighter greens, yellows, and blues become...
I find that my veiled will choose one spot and poop in it for a few days and then pick another spot. I really do believe that they pick the location. Sometimes Mr.Pink will poop on a certain plant in the cage, and sometimes he'll aim for the drainage pan.
Congrats on the new chameleon - and kudos for doing your research first.
Every chameleon is different in that way. Just like how some can be handled, while others can be aggressive. What I would do to make sure he's comfortable is to add more foliage and branches so he can find a place to...
Welcome to the forums and congrats on the new little one :D
Babies should be allowed to eat as many small feeders they can get their tongues on within a 10 - 15 minute time frame, a couple times a day. Depending on the size of the feeders, this can amount in about 15 - 20 a day in an...
Grow lights are for the plants. My schefflera loves it - it's growing so fast! I have two heat lamps because one isn't always enough, and sometimes one is more than enough. I don't always have both on, but it's been a particularly cold winter, and I just wanted to make the warm side of the...
While veileds seem to be available at any and all pet stores in Ontario. Panthers (and most other species) are not as easy to come by. Take the Canadian classifieds on this site as an example - as of right now, there's one post. With border regulations being what they are, it's difficult...
I'm mounting my 2x2x4 onto a laundry sink. Not very pretty, but it gives me some extra height for plants, and is the perfect drainage system. I'm sure I could build a small cabinet around it to make it look good.
So I bought a mistking, with a zipdrip and followed the instructions on their website to hook it up. (located the valve in between the resevoir and pump, hooking the second nozzle back to the zip drip like in the picture) It didn't work. Thinking the pump wasn't primed, I tried priming it with...
So, finally it's done! All furnished, mistking installed, ready to go. I moved Mr.Pink in yesterday, and besides not liking the mistking too much, he seems to enjoy the extra space. The only thing I'm going to add is a small hanging pothos in the left side. Still waiting for my fogger to...
My veiled had Vit a deficiency. I used Cod liver oil gel caps. I poked a pinhole in one and put one or two drops on one of his feeders. I did this every day for about a week. Carrots are also high in vit a, so I used them as gutload, and even had him eat some that I had diced up and blanched.
I'm all for live plants, but I like to keep a few of those fake vine bunches in the corner for Mr.Pink to climb through when he's shedding. He uses them, so I keep them :)
I just built one out of 2x2's - but I used trim. 9, 2x2's cost me like 15$ and it was big enough to build a 4X2X4 cage. It was really really really easy to build.

This is my latest build. On the second page it explains the...
Looks awesome - but please ditch the waterfall. For the little you get out of it, it's really not worth all of the daily sanitizing that's necessary for keeping it clean. I'm not sure if you put it in the for the relative humidity, or for your cham to drink out of, but it shouldn't be used...
