Just to point it out because I had a few people tell me. Windows block much of the UVB coming through them. This isn't a problem since you have good lighting, but my cham loves to sit in windowsills and if yours happens to hang out in the light from the window instead of near the basking and UVB...
Even if you planned on housing them together I would begin first by making/buying two seperate cages and have a fully supervised trial preiod.
Most keepers would say to avoid the pairing and by having a seperate cage, you could be prepared for the worst if you happened to notice that your...
I would say roughly 10-14. Most breeders recommend about 10 feeder crickets for a 4-5 month old veiled and those locust, I would say, are just a little smaller than a normal cricket.
If you feed him 10 or so and he doesn't seem to want any more then don't try to force the others on him. Some...
Since you have kept them since pupation, they should be safe and pretty nutritious. They have probably lost a bit of nutritional value through making the pupa and from flying around now, but I figure they are still going to be pretty good for your cham. I say you take your cham on a house wide...
Locust are pretty big, aren't they? Might be a little big for your young cham. You could end up choking him, but depending on what species of cham you have I would say 2-4. Just imagine how many crickets you would feed them and about how many equivalent locust that would be.
I feed my Senegal mealworms twice a week for a little extra weight.
I figure you probably have a panther or veiled so I would say 2 or 3 super worms a week would be ok. Carol said up to once a day and I would say that to be about the max. They have a lot of chitin which is difficult to digest.
I cant wait for the snow here! I bought an old rental snowboard and filled the cracks and are in the process of repainting it to my liking. So far its been filled, cleaned, primed, top coated and hard edged for the background images. Its gonna be freak'in sexy once complete! Cant wait to take it...
Ebay is having a 100 free item listing deal until the start of the new year. Might try selling some stuff there!:)
Totally wish I could go to a big expo, but I live on the other side of the US from this one.:(
He's a nosy and he has such a nice looking shade of blue. I say you capitalize on that and go with like Gonzo or Grover.:D
If you want to get tricky go with something like, Leuco, from the species Rubus leucodermis better known as the Whitebark Raspberry and even better known as the flavor...
You can give it to her while she is eating. If you can get the medicine to her mouth as she is chewing it will break the tension when it touches her lip and go right in.
If you offer your cham some food at a distance while putting your other inbetween the cham and the one with the food to require them to step onto your hand to get to it, you may get some results. I would return them to the branch soon after though until they become a little more comfortable...
You could cut them, bake them, and then use a double sided screw to put them back together. I have read where some use bleach, and although it will evaporate I would be afraid of it soaking in. Maybe find an all natural cleaner at store that is pet safe. Spray, let sit for a day or two, soak in...
Most don't recommend substrate. Cedar has some interesting properties. I'm pretty sure it isn't poisonous, but it does deter bugs. I figure its the smell which may bother your cham. If they are big chunks though you shouldn't have to worry about your cham eating it. You may run into mold issues...
Don't worry?!? Your chameleon has got the taste of human flesh!!! He will never be the same! Run! Run!:D
Yeah, I have had this happen before, luckily I have a Senegal instead of a big ol' Veiled or Panther. :p
