If you have a double fixture, just stick a plant grow light in the second slot. You can get them at Home Depot for cheap. They add some spectrum and are good for the plants.
Thats not good. They can go a bit without eating, but she will perish quickly without water. Def get some water in her and food. Do you have a decent reptile vet near you? How much does she weigh? Do you have a gram scale?
Nah, she came up very plump and you can see the eggs on her belly, however I dug up the area just to be safe. :)
She is pacing around today near the bottom of the cage today. I added a small Hibiscus to her laying bin to see if it makes it a little more enticing. I really don't want her...
Wow! That just seems so short, but it looks like mine won't be far behind. She dug to china and back today, and she looks no worse for the wear. Eating and drinking great as usual! I think she is gonna make some pretty babies!
You need to buy them from someone in Florida or find someone willing to ship them to you. Dubia are illegal to ship to Florida, but if your chams will eat them they are awesome feeders and very easy to breed!
So I walked out to feed her today, and found a hole. She was deep down in it and I could hear her digging.
It has only been 19 days since the day she was bred. Anyone else had a panther lay in that short of a time period? She ate like a pig as right up until the deed also.
Anyway, I...
Just FYI a 24 inch bulb does not fit a 24 inch hood! You need an 18inch reptisun 5.0 for a 24 inch hood.
Never seen one in a green box so can't comment on that!
My house stays at a fairly constant 73 to 75 degrees. AC runs all day and night and it is always hot here outside so it is does not really influence the inside temp too much.
No I see it as giving him the truth without sugar coating it. Fact is these animals go down hill very quickly once problems arise. Maybe you have a better solution for him you could offer up, but everyone knows that without proper vet care there is very little that can be done to help a sick cham!
I don't see anyone beating him up about anything. He asked for advice and was given advice. He obviously is concerned about his cham, but regardless of situation he really only has two options...vet or possible burial.
I hang mine from the top and use a large Schefflera Gold Capella on the bottom. No issues with those at all. I am surprised yours are dieing, they are extremely hardy plants. Your are probably getting too much water in the soil, which will cause you problems with any plant you put in, but...
If u don't / can't get her to a vet then she will more then likely die. It sounds like you have done everything right and have a good basic knowledge of whats going on. There are so many possibilities that without an experienced vet there is not much you can do. She could have parasites, an...
From what you wrote, i would say that you have one option if u want her to live. Find a good vet experienced in chams and get her there asap.
In addition: there shld be feces in her cage if not u have problems. Also at 8 months 6 to 8 crickets a day is plenty.
The mr138 and 148 are also both Thermoelectric Peltier Devices, and appear to have more in-common with the repti-pro 5000 then just their shell. The MR138 and 148 are also assembled from parts made in China.
The reptipro 5000 may indeed have a better quality thermostat with a tighter heat...
