    Riding A Bike

I went to Hobby Lobby this morning, looking for some inspiration for another tongue shot, since I am down to just 3-4 hornworms. I came home with a bike. I was hoping he'd have a toe on a pedal, but that didn't happen.

    My Beautiful Veileds

Nice pics and nice looking chams, Jann. First time I have ever heard of a cham that routinely runs errands with his owner. That's great.

    Dexter Tackles 3.5 Inch Hornworm

Thanks. I've only had adults, so can't say. They're so soft and squishy, I think generally you can feed them worms that might look too big. You could obviously feed him the young small hornworms, but they do grow extremely quick. I keep mine at around 55 degrees in a wine cooler and that helps a...

    Dexter Tackles 3.5 Inch Hornworm

Thanks again. Here are a couple pics taken within the last couple of weeks with the same batch of worms and using the same setup and background. I hate using hornworms any bigger than these for long tongue shots. They tend to grab really well onto whatever they are on, so I'm afraid my cham...

    Dexter Tackles 3.5 Inch Hornworm

Thanks. Yep, he was white when excited and very dark with hardly any color when cool. He got most of his colors back after his shed a couple of months ago and looks better than ever after his shed this past weekend.

    Dexter Tackles 3.5 Inch Hornworm

The full size hormworms always seem too big, but when hand feeding a couple inches away, I've never had a problem. I have a bunch of big ones sitting in the wine cooler, so my chams have good eats for another week or so.

So that is how they fit in those small eggs!

Some of the best pics I have seen on this site. I truly enjoyed the view. Congrats on National Geographic.

    Cham memes!

For the record, I have the most utmost respect for St. Francis and what he stands for, and even though it makes me feel bad, I feel like I have to do it. Thanks a lot, Max.;)

    Cham Steals Gator's Lunch

Thanks. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing. I was using the gator in place of the cham to take test shots at different angles and positions. Then I thought of this. I'm thinking now that it might be better with a pond at the bottom and a different background. Maybe another day....

Taking the worm by the horns

Haha. Not quite just yet. That was the nervous I had ever been taking any picture. I made it super quick and made sure I kept her attention so she didn't look left. Thanks.

Flomar checking out my new cham....

That looks almost identical to one of mine. Who are the parents? I bet they are related.

Taking the worm by the horns

Thanks all. I just used the fairly cheap Canon 28-135 lens. Shutter speed is 1/250 because that is the flash sync speed of Canon. One flash from the ceiling behind pointing at the background, another to the side of the camera shooting through a softbox. I had the flashes set to 1/8 power, which...

Taking the worm by the horns

Thanks Jann. I had to move him into a spare bedroom when I got a new puppy and he lost his color pretty much that same day. I think it is about safe to move him back into the spare closet in my bedroom, so will probably do that before long. Here he is a month ago next to said puppy.

Taking the worm by the horns

Haven't gotten this guy out much lately. Up until a few months ago he was very orange, then he was white when fired. Now, after shedding last week, he has gotten some of his color back and is more green than he ever has been before. Been a few months since I did a tongue shoot with him, so was a...

    calling all white panthers!

Unfortunately, I now have a white Panther. He was a beautiful orange until the very day I moved him to another room. He and my other Panther were in a spare closet in my bedroom, but the day before I purchased my 6 week old puppy 2 1/2 months ago, I moved them into a spare bedroom. That closet...

    Christmas Goody

Haha. Maybe I should have put a smiley face at the end of that sentence. I was just being a smartass. The only training they have received is on the photo set, but all of my chameleons have usually been pretty cooperative. If they aren't, then I don't force them. I just put them up and try again...

    Christmas Goody

Thanks all. Weeks of obedience training. I had to take this one to classes, but he passed with flying colors.
