weighing him can be weighing a plant (a small one) and then putting him on, its less distressing for them rather than holding them on a balance.
as for the eye thing, I AM NOT an expert, however, my chameleon was closing its eyes for a few minutes at a time during the day. Then I got the proper...
hey there! i have a bsfl bin on my back porch. black soldier flies are very easy to feed: they taste good, they don't jump, they dont make noise, they don't run very fast, they don't even smell (if you feed them exclusively green material)! i take a couple every day and they just replenish so...
If you didn't want to insult me and instead cared only about the well-being of my pet, you are going about it the wrong way. The way you answered my comment would put anyone on the defense, and it makes them want to dig in their heels to prove that they are right instead of taking your advice...
I almost had a stroke reading that message, so correct me if I misunderstood you, but I believe you just suggested that I didn't value my chameleon and shouldn't own a reptile. That is incredibly rude.
I came to y'all a while back for advice on my sick chameleon. People INSISTED that I expand...
i literally have 7 dollars in my bank account of spending money. the rest I need to save for other things. so actually, 20 dollars is 100%< over my budget.
its a christmas-y tree, but i don't think its exactly a Christmas tree type, but it is sold as a Christmas present. it was conveniently waiting for me. maybe ill have to keep it in my yard >:( it was 20 bucks, I don't have a job atm and I cant get any other really expensive plants. :(
Hello All! im back with an update! i added a few bigger plants and changed the lighting on my big cage, and added more branches. it is not nearly as awesome as I need it to be, but it's getting there! it's an update on my cage and my chameleon's symptoms.
the big cage has a SANSI flood light...
This is EXACTLY why i built a huge one and bought a small one, kept her in the small one, and then was going to upgrade. unfortunately, my previous chameleon fell ill and never inherited her mansion of a cage waiting for her. i would recommend either saving money up already, or buying it as...
i TOTALLY get the space restrictions, as I am sharing a room with my sister and have to accommodate house rules etc. i have a female panther that is about 6 weeks. i have just been informed that my cage of 18*18*12 is too small for a chameleon smaller than 6 inches???
this is news, but I knew...
i live in the hell's armpit that is texas, where I can get plants year-round from the outdoor department. i just peruse the low-light sections and look up the plants on a chameleon safe plant website.
i love lowes and home depot, but their pothos was 15 dollars for a little plant? id rather...
im mainly using it for cover, weaving sticks and branches all through it, providing like a nature walk of sorts. I looked for s achefflera and couldn't find one at any stores, so I got a gardenia.
i couldn't find a single live cricket, but i figured they could have been eaten or were hiding from me, which was fine with me, I have many crickets left
Update! Leah has fallen back asleep. i put the new light on and I'm still dusting her bugs, but today she didn't eat, at least not from me or while I was watching. However, I did dump in some crickets and leave the house. then tonight, about 20 minutes until her light turned off I caught her...
i actually forgot while talking to you guys, I have plastic on the bottom of the cage right now, nailed to the bottom. this does mean that the water will spill onto the carpet but I'm planning on coming up with an alternative to buckets. i don't like the look of buckets.
ok.
one: that is an incredible diagram/idea picture thing, how on earth did you make that.
two:that's a good idea, I've got some things like that in place, and o worked on it a lot today.
here's my improvements
that's a corn plant, pothos hanging from the ceiling, and an asparagus fern in...
sorry, i misspoke, i meant to say withOUT the D3.
i feel horrible about this, just so you know
she has been sleeping a bit or closing her eyes pretty regularly since I got her, I chalked it up to her being in a new enclosure and it being exhausting traveling, and then that shes trying to...
