Im going to agree with the age and species. I have had my handsome dude for 2 years now. The love humidity and to be high in the air. I have found that mine is happier when he is higher than me so I build him a really tall cage. They love humidity and dont forget the Jacksons are a bit smaller...
It doesnt even have to be fish related or reptile related. I just hooked up a filter to my mist king set up. Its a simple 1/4 quick release filter that removes the nasty stuff that they put in our local water. Essentially it is a refrigerator filter. Like stated above ask your local waterboy and...
I have screen so I put them on the top screen and they hang. Makes them more eye catching. They swoop those things up in a heart beat. Your cham might not be in the mood which happens to mine at times.
And that is the final product. Mist king, timed lights, plants, and chameleons. Wall "O" Chameleon complete. Hope you enjoyed the pictures and hopefully it gave you some ideas for those who want to do wooden enclosures. That center enclosure is almost a year old and still as new as the day I put...
Hello everyone. Sorry for not putting this up sooner but have been really busy Chameleon hunting and work, and school, and family, and you know the deal. Well here it is. Finally the finished product. Enjoy the pictures. If you have any questions please feel free to ask on this post or message me.
Beautiful. I actually passed by Alaska several times. Even spent about a month on the coast stuck on a ship but never landed on shore. I do want to visit one day.
I started with 2. Female and Male Jackson. My female passed away about 5 months ago. Got a veil after she had passed. Yesterday I received my Ambilobe, and will be purchasing a Nosy Be next week. So yeah I am at 4. Would have a lot more if I didn't work so much. Once I retire I would imagine my...
For my jackson which in my opinion requires the most humidity of all the chameleons I own (jacksons, viel, panthers) I have them on 4 times a day for 2 minutes a piece in the winter and 5 times a day for 2 minutes and I maintain high humidity with that. Average of 75-80%.
I agree with the above. That is exactly how my male looked when he was a wee little one. The females can have horns but like they said it is very rare.
And I thought my enclosures I have created were top notch. Well man I have officially accepted second place. Absolutely gorgeous set up. Something to be very proud that is for sure.
Sounds like your chameleon will be very happy for years to come. Something I have learned is it is never to late to keep reading on chameleons. I have had my jacksons for 2 years now and still read about them. If I see a book I have never read then I buy it and read it. You can't ever learn...
I have had fish for 15+ years. Everytime I would walk into a pet store if there was a chameleon I would always be in shock by how unique they were. Finally many years later I decided to buy a book. It was over after that. Now I eat, breath, and sleep chameleons. Hell, even when I dream I don't...
I know most ovens wont support a branch that is more than 3 ft tall. My enclosures are 4+ ft tall so what I did was dilute bleach and water and scrubbed the branch so I can keep them at full length. Just make sure you rinse really well and let dry. It works and you will be able to have longer...
A holdback as referred to by a breeder is a chameleon that exhibits exceptional size, color, or maybe something that is just unique or special, different than the other members of the same clutch. I usually hold back several from each clutch to allow them to grow and see what the color on them...
