The only thing I can think of is what happened to me. Milo might be a girl that is not growing fast. I see my Cham every day so it was hard to notice growth at first but one day it hit me when Iooked at a picture how much she bigger she was. If the age is correct a male would have more permident...
My Cham does some things I consider strange but today I witnessed a new thing that is worth sharing in my opinion. I was reading on my bed and looked up at Randall, my vision was partally blocked by leaves so I moved to see what she was up to. Then she lifted her back foot and scratched herself...
My advice is to wait till almost last minute to get him in the container because less time in there will be less stressful, also for the container I would do something like a towel at the bottom and something secure to climb on laying on the bottom. I would have the container covered enough he...
1. It is not normal. I saw a story about a Cham getting bit near the eye by a mealworm, something like that could have happened but I don't know a lot about other reasons so I could be wrong. Is the any small mark or difference in how the eye looks compared to the other?
2. By "dust his...
That area of the cage is pretty bare, is there any cover near the basking spot? They live in tree tops so being at least partially hidden makes them feel much safer.
Not 100 percent sure on pears but I have never heard of them being poisonous to anything so I would say yes. It seems a most of the plant matter we eat is Cham safe. Some things I am sure are save and have Tried at least the feed are strawberries, blueberries, watermelon, and collard greens. I...
You can't feed him all Wax worms, these are more of a exrichment food or treat. They are like eating nothing but candy to a Cham, way to much fat content. I feed mine crickets and a few other insects now and then to spice things up. If he is large enough dubia roaches are a good staple feeder.
I believe the coloring you discribed means she is gravid. This does not mean you will wake up with eggs tomorrow but keep the lay bin in the cage. As long as it is big enough (about 8-12 inches deep) and is moist enough you can dig a hole that will not collapse she will more than likely lay in it.
Congrats on your new chameleon! Your cage looks like a chameleon would enjoy it besides the fact it is to small for a grown female veild. 24•24•36 is a good cage size but bigger is always better. She might try to strike at the betta, I would A. Put a simple border between the cages.(paper or...
I agree with Andee, he looks very dehydrated and/or thin. How often do you mist him and how often do you feed him+ how much? This could have been the cause of his, ordeal.
I have seen the braided hybiscus to, but they were a lot more expensive than the one tree I got. My cage was lit pretty well but not well enough for hybiscus. After the buds fell off the tree started dying so it is a outdoor tree now. Hybiscus are so pretty and I can't wait for mine to bloom again.
Hello everyone, I recently found out the "male veiled chameleon" I got about 2 1/2 months ago is a girl. (Wow it went fast!) I have some questions.
1. I have seen a lot of different answers to the question "what age can a female veiled become gravid?" Is there a good answer to this ?
2. Can...
I am going to say you can still suppliment on your current scedule, mine is close to yours and works fine, but when you suppliment don't use as much or don't dust all of the crickets. It might to take some experimenting to get it just right for Cleo.
I think this is Cleo getting rid of extra calcium and maybe other minerals. When you over supliment a veiled this is how they get extra calcium (most likely) out of there system, through there nose. Simply cut back the amount of suppliment you give her. Hope this helps.
P.S. When this happened...
Randall hates my iPod camera as you can see in the first picture and I had to take the second really fast in bad lighting so it is pretty terrible, but I can tell in person there is no clear spur. I guess petsmart and me were wrong, Randall is a girl!
