    What size Jungle Dawn.

Hi I am in the process of setting up the adult enclosure for my male Veiled Chameleon Gary. It is a 24 x 24 x 48 screen enclosure and will have live plants. I have a mist king, 24 watt T5 uvb 12% tube light and a 75 watt heat spot light. I would like to add a Jungle Dawn lamp for light and...

    Tracking food (by weight)

A possible better way might be to weigh the feeder and work out its volume. This would give you the density of each item. Size is no guarantee of density.

    Lights out advice please

In the wild would the night time light not change with the moon? It wouldn't always be completely dark but most animals seem to manage.

    Sleeping Habits

My Veiled is 5 months. He has 4 different sleeping places around his enclosure. When he has decided where he is sleeping he puts his pajamas on and stays there until morning. One of his regular places is on the side mesh.

Not eating since i got him

Have you tried a variety of foods or just crickets. Mine will eat everything I give him but would walk past a cricket to get his tongue on a silkworm.

    Hello and thanks

Hi I'm in UK so my supplier probably won't be much use to you. When we got our chameleon we didn't realise that we would become bug raising experts too, almost a hobby in itself. Good luck with the silkies. If you are raising from eggs don't forget they only eat mulberry leaves or silkworm chow...

    Hello and thanks

Hi. Mine probably a month older loves silkworms. I feed half and half now putting in 7-8 crickets in the morning and 8-10 silkies in the afternoon. Be careful to get the right size silkies they can grow to 3 1/2 inches. I use small/ medium. When we got our veiled he weighed 12 grams, now one...

    False Widow (Steatoda nobilis)

I was planning on supervising him at all times to guard against bees wasps etc oh and cats seagulls. Your idea of an outside cage seems a good one and I can easily build one as you describe perhaps with slightly larger mesh to get plenty of sunlight and fresh air in. Thanks Trickedoutbiker.

    False Widow (Steatoda nobilis)

Hi This spring summer I intend to give my Veiled Chameleon some time outside in the real sun placing him in a small bush in my UK garden. I understand that this is very benificial to him and he will even hunt within the confines of the bush. My concern is with the False Widow spider Steatoda...
