She should eat right after laying. I feed Teal'c even if it's late as the girls are usually starving afterwards. Good that she drank though! Sorry to be a downer :D that would just REALLY worry me if it was my girl!
If you separate your worms according to size then it'll be a lot easier to remove the cocoons as they will be in a tub with other big guys who are easier to move :)
I would be concerned about the spaces in between her egg laying! Although she's WC isn't she? And I don't know if that changes things. 13 isn't a full clutch either is it? Haha I'm asking more than I'm helping :)
Since she's digging now its kind of irrelevant but you might want to try...
Egg laying is a very complex time and her behaviour will change at the first stages of egg production. I know with me that I always notice early on and think she should be ready to lay long before she is! It's about 6 weeks from when I notice a change in her to the actual laying.
You should...
Well in a way yes you should worry. If he does in under his basking spot only then it means he is too hot. What are your temps? Jackson's like it cooler than a veiled. But if he does it all the time it could be a sign of a respiritory infection.
Lol he's the boss :) I don't have a mister as my girl prefers drops but I bet she would do this just to get on my wick! You could try moving them? Maybe he doesn't like it spraying on his fave place to sit and chill?
Hi! At 4 months old he should get as much as he can eat in 2 sittings. Morning and early afternoon are good times to do this as he will have plenty of time to digest his food properly.
I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a very handsome boy. If he had troubles eating for that long then I don't think you can call it a sudden death and am not confident that a home necropsy will give you the answers you need. Maybe a necropsy performed by a specialist would be a better chance.
Oh Jann you have had such a terrible time lately. These are the sad and difficult parts of being a great pet owner and your sadness just shows what a great pet mom you are. I have not gone through the sadness of loss for a very long time but I only started reptile keeping just over a year ago. I...
A lot of people keep them in glass tanks with great success but I am not one of them :) you will want her in a decent sized enclosure so if the mesh is bigger then it may be a good idea.
She will need a laying bin too so you will need room for something at least 12 inches round and deep...
It's not a good idea to house them together. He will probably want to mate all the time and the female will become gravid and stressed. Also that is not a big enough enclosure to house 2.
If you are new to chameleons then its a great idea to build up experience before diving in abd getting...
