It's not really that clear with this clutch at this age (6 months) so I am hoping that people who have bred or raised hatchling cristatus might be able to give their opinion.
The first clutch I raised, it was obvious. At about 4 months, the only male in the clutch was light and mostly brown...

I love all of your carpet, quad and cristatus pics. Makes me really happy to see them.
As for your cristatus, if Brad isn't sending you a female, let me know. Your male needs to breed before he croaks from old age. My females are growing up but they aren't even close to breeding...
He may have a respiratory infection. See a vet and take in a fecal sample for testing for parasites. It's hard to post on an iPhone but if you want my help call me tomorrow at 818-219-9315. I've worked with this species in rescue over the years.
You know, I actually told someone to buy her cages at LLL rather than me because the price was unbeatable. She did! I'd have to charge sales tax on my site and shipping so she saved a good amount of money.
I'm impressed with how the bigger reptile supply stores set up at a show and how...
There were definitely some WCs there. I think NARBC says no WCs. Don't know about this promoter.
This was the booth Dave Weldon and I had for ChamEO and SBCK.
The white net cage had four of my CB T. cristatus in there. I stacked the other one on top with 4 more from the clutch. Just...
Excellent point. Cham keepers get extra touchy when they see parsonii. They looked good for chameleons at a show. I didn't see them in enclosures though so I can't really say they were stressed out. The price seemed too high for most cham keepers. Had he put them in a really awesome set-up...
If you think I'm being overly cautious, get a microscope and test. Test your chams, test your feeders. Just because you can't see them doesn't mean they aren't there or are harmless. They can very well kill a chameleon if left unchecked.
I made my recommendation to Laurie because she has...
I agree about the parasites. They all carry them. So every time you feed your chameleon a wild insect, you are basically giving them parasites. Why take the risk?
For example, I started a colony of isopods a few weeks ago. Knowing they could have parasites, my goal was to get babies and...
The eggs had already sweat at least a day before and were getting very dark. There was no sign of pipping. I also noticed a faint smell of mildew. In the past, this has not been a good sign. I had nothing to lose by trying. I'm so glad I did because they are alive and well.
My previous...
Congratulations! I had my CBs hatch out a couple of weeks ago but it didn't go so smoothly. I had to hatch out four by cutting them out of eggs that were failing. Very scary. Your babies look awesome with excellent colors. I know they will continue to do well. Cristatus are beautiful...
