I got Morgan in end of May. He had a concussion from a fall about 3 weeks ago and took about 2 weeks to full recover.
I much prefer handling silkies than crickets. Morgan eats small crix and they are hard to hold between fingers without killing them. I will use my hands when we graduate to...
First attempt and success!
I chopstick fed my 3 month old panther Morgan this morning. The very first one took about 2 minutes and he couldn't resist. The other 2 after were eaten within a minute. I feel so lucky and stoked that he shot it out of the chopsticks on the first attempt. I noticed...
second shedding under my care
Just wanted to keep some of your updated on Morgan.
He is doing great. Not eating as much as I expect but he is growing.
Found him looking really white in the head and neck this morning(first pic). And when I returned around noon he looked like this(second pic)...
Morgan is BACK!
He been eating well, not as much as I'd like him to. But nonetheless he is hunting and slowly regaining his balance. Eyes are looking healthy after a week of eye drops. Yesterday was the first time I saw his color return back to normal before the accident. This photo was taken...
GOOD NEWS! I saw him hunt and ate a fruit fly.
I didnt syringe feed him this morning in hoping he would be hungry enough to hunt on his own and he DID! Well at least one when I was watching. I have been praying for him to eat on his own. I am 70% relieved, 100% if he takes down a cricket...
Still not eating on his own yet but saw him drinking lots of water. His movements have improved a bit. Dont see him hanging upside down as often.
Here is a quick snap while he got some natural sunlight this morning.
His color is showing a bit. Thats a good sign.
Here is a progress report on Morgan.
Well, he is still alive but still quite lethargic, his color is changing more often but mainly solid dark to very pale almost white. Still hanging upside down most of the time. I haven't seen him hunt for food yet. So I have been syringe feeding him since...
in his plastic tote, he only gets mist and dried out between misting. the dripper is set up in his outdoor enclosure.
I think the fall did it.
I aimed the shower at the wall and he gets his shower that way. What I learned from this is that shower for such young cham is not a good idea...
Ambilobe Panther, Male, 4.10.2013 DOB, under my care for just under a month.
Handling - daily, moving to the outdoor enclosure.
Feeding - He is on Fruit flies and pin heads. My guess is about dozen of flies and about 3 pinhead to small size crickets. I gut load the crickets with carrots...
Can anyone drop some knowledge on Repti Worms for chameleons?
I found them on lindagonebuggie.com. Are they safe to feed and introduce to my panther's daily diet mix?
Hi CF,
I set up an outdoor enclosure on my balcony 22x22x48. The entire set up is under an overhang(shaded from the sun from noon on) and it only get only morning sun for about 3 hours on nice summer day. The rest of the day would be in the shade. My question is, do I need to turn on UVB? My...
Wanted to post this photo of morgan to show his puffy neck situation.
I think its getting better? Its definitely gone down in size but its still there.
Look at the lil guy felt asleep on my finger.
Thanks for both Supergirl and Garrett. I found all of your solutions aesthetically pleasing, functional and minimal mess. I just bought me a shelving unit just like Supergirls and my outdoor set up is now complete. For my indoor set up, I am going to implement Garrett's idea with the sink...
