From the symptoms you describe, it is a possibility that he may have MBD. Unti we have more info we cannot be sure. Please fill out the ask for help form at the top of the health forum in the stickies. You can cut and paste your answers.
Hello and Welcome!
Congrats on the new chameleon but I have some bad news for you :(. You are going to have to make some changes to your enclosure to make him happy. First things first, can you fill out the ask for help form? It is located at the very top of the health forum in Stickies. You...
Just a couple things that I have noticed reading your posts. I am trying to help you out, so dont get mad. I know you may have heard all this but...
90 degree basking spot is too hot, especially for females, ESPECIALLY for Jacksons.
75-85 degree swing in ambient temps is too much. I use a...
can she see the male? They should not be able to see one another
The best plan of action in the future is to have the cages ready for the cham when you bring them home. It is very stressful for them to be put in a new environment. If you put them in and then constantly add plants, take out...
Egg binding is extremely dangerous to female veiled chameleons, more so than other species. We have seen them with eggs earlier and earlier. Maybe one of the site developers could put a link on the homepage referring beginners to care for egg laying. It just seems like one of the main cause of...
You dont need a specialized heat bulb, just get a regular incandescent house bulb of the right wattage to provide the heat you need. Play with the wattage and height above the cage to get optimal conditions. I used a 60 watt bulb with ambient house temps of 68-70 degrees
The bent casque in the picture is definitly abnormal. Your supplementing regiment sounds good so it must be your lights. I would get an arcadia t5 setup if it were me.

You also need to stop giving Calcium w/...
I would say she looks plump. I would allow her to have access to a lay bin 100% of the time. if she is Egg bound is a matter of how long she has been with eggs. I would get her a bin and watch her close. I have seen a lot of veileds passing away from being egg bound, so it is important to get...
The bent casque may be the result of MBD. Are all of his limbs straight? He doesnt have any extra elbow or knee joints? Pictures will greatly help us.
In terms of taming... I asked the same question when I was first starting out years ago, thinking there was an easy regiment that would result...
I saw that you have a light fixture and two domes. You only need UVB and heat, what is the third light for?
I only ask because sometimes if chameleons are exposed to too much light they will close their eyes. This may be a possibility.
In my experience, I have had a problem with substrate with multiple species, in multiple types of enclosures. For my cham keeping, it is a hard rule... NO SUBSTRATE.
People always want to add substrate to make it look more real, just let it go. If it poses a possible problem to my animal, I...
