She's definitely bigger than when we got her. We've had her for a couple months. She eats every day. And I give her literally 15-20 crickets a day. She's growing slowly but surely.
Husband took her out of her enclosure yesterday. She wasn't very happy about it so we put her back.. However, before putting her back he told her to close her mouth and she did
According to my dad (who has had a few reptiles but doesn't even like chameleons) I starve Calvin. Because I give her 15 small crickets a day (if we give her more she doesn't eat them all), and I only feed her in the morning. He was like "you're starving her. I know how to take care of lizards"...
I'll have my husband look when he goes to work tomorrow. Does it actually get the temperature of chicken right? I definitely need one of those. I don't cook chicken because I'm paranoid of salmonella anything else I should be looking out for with her?
It may be higher. I'm not 100% sure. We weren't sure how to attach a thermometer near that area with her enclosure being made of mesh. I have no ac, I haven't turned my fan on and I don't have the windows open.
The basking temperature is probably about 75 or so. Her light turns on at 6:34, but I don't open the curtain to let actual sunlight into my bedroom until around 7. Once her light goes off at night, I shut any lights in my room off and close the curtain. Nothing has changed.
Also, here is come information about her..
Your Chameleon - 3-4 month female veiled chameleon
Handling - We try to take her out for at least 5 minutes every other day. When she is out she's in a plant.
Feeding - Currently we feed her horned worms, meal worms and crickets. Her crickets are gut...
Today is the second day in a row that Calvin has gone to sleep before her usual time. Her light turns on at 6:34am, and turns off at 6:34pm. It is currently 5:10, and she is already in her sleeping spot with her eyes closed and her tail curled up. The only thing I can think of is that maybe my...
I think she's about 4 months or so. She's shed twice since we've had her. We got her on March 4th. I'm not sure if she shed while at the store but she shed within the first few days we had her
I love that I've actually been wondering if I need a laying bin or not since she's still little. I'm also still unsure if I want to breed her. I'm leaning more towards not breeding her.
Added some more plants to Calvin's habitat today as I felt it looked a bit empty before. I read that they prefer lots of foliage. And that the more comfortable they feel in their habitat the more likely they are to chill in the open where you can see them easier. I mean half the time I have a...
Poor baby! I only take Calvin out (or try) once a day. If she turns the other way and hisses, I stop trying. When she's out she's in a plant. But I'd never just carry her around like a stuffed animal.
