I am so happy she got there safely. The polka dots will shed off. I put those on to keep track when all the babies were in the neonate tank. If you change your mind and want to sell one of those males let me know ;)
I would give her maybe a month accounting for settling into new enclosure and male sniffing about. Guessing by the size about 4 eggs if she is close, maybe 5 but that is a big clutch. all my girls seem to lay 4-6 mostly fertile each time they lay.
I would also like to know more info, because I have a gravid carpet (lateralis major) currently. I have read that incubating is super tricky with carpets.
She wouldn't eat form it anyway, so I took it out and now put food one at a time on a leaf for her to chase down. Thanks Ferret I will get something around the front of the bin asap.
Is it deep enough do you think ferret? I followed the laying bin set up video by camelot chameleons. Just hope it will work for her. All I have experience with for eggs is pygs and they just lay in their substrate, so this kind of worries me...
let me know what you all think, critiques? front and half of sides is acrylic, back and half of sides is metal (vent holes on both sides of metal total of8 baseball sized covered with screen on each side) top is screen. Brand new to laying bins, does it look ok?
and my girl in the warm...
I was hoping you would see this thread. You are the go to on carpets! I may be bending your ear a bit in the future. What supplement scedule would you recommend for the majors, and how long before she will need a laying bin?
I received my new carpet today, and she is supposed to be gravid. Not sure she is actually a she...
I know the females are more colorful, but I know the black background most people associate with females is their stress or male repelling colors. Any members feel lucky wanna...
0I was the one that suggested that size for a trio. I have had a trio in one successfully for a year. No signs of stress, heavily planted. It was recommended to me when I first got pygs a year ago and has worked out great for my group.
I have a cylindrical glass vase I used for a large flower arrangement with a frog pin in the bottom. Wonder if I can make that a pyg tank... we will see ;)
Thank you for the link Miss Lilly. I have a Jackson little one, and he does not seem to be growing like Monty. Tried 2 diff. gutloads, but maybe this is the one.
