I've got a mistking system and its awesome. It's quiet and easy to hook up. The timer that you can get with it works great, you can set it to the second and has battery backup.
I use a approx 12 x 6 x 5 inch deep container (that premixed salad came in) with a screen securely fastened with tape to catch the majority of the water from the dripper and mistings and it works great for me. I would love to find a drip tray for under the whole cage but have not been able to...
happy birthday Mia. I still think that Carmie and Mia are long lost sisters lol considering they sound so much alike:) We're not sure Carmies exact hatchdate so we made it november 7th.
you should still try to offer some otheer worms (especially supers, silkies and horns) as your cham may like them more than the butters. My cham will often reject one type of worm and eat another. If you are not getting you feeders online maybe only buy one or two of each type to try.
the hibiscus that I have in my chams enclosure is doing fairly good. I brought it in from outdoors approx 2 months ago, it lost some leaves near the bottom but has new growth at the top and has about 5 new buds/flowers blooming. I have a exo terra hood with two 26 watt 6500k cfls for the plants...
hello, im not too far from TO either and also have a veiled except mine is female. She is in a screen enclosure that has two sides of it wrapped in plastic to protect the walls from moisture as well as keep humidity levels up when the heat is on and it along with the help of live plants keeps...
I had the same problem, my chams enclosure is im a corner and 2 walls would get wet so I got a sheet of clear builders plastic and carefully trimmed and taped it to two sides of her screen cage along the frame with black electrical tape and it works great to keep the water in as well as help...
what type of cham? 68 is ok at night depending on the type of cham and as long as daytime temps are still warm enough. I wouldn't be too concerned unless it starts getting closer to low 60's.
you can feed wild caught insects as long as you know the risks. wc insects can potentially transfer parasites to your cham. also make sure they come from a pesticide area. I personally feed my veiled wc moths and grasshoppers and have never had an issue. also make sure you identify the insect...
im just stepping away from your exact question. in my opinion since your veiled likes eating plants you should try offering other stuff like veggies (carrot,etc)/fruit (strawberry orange, berries, etc)/greens (kale, dandelion greens, mustard greens, etc) just cut it up into small strips and see...
i would just ditch the meal worms and try superworms as they are easier to digest. By that age your cham could probably eat 1/2 inch crickets, the general rule of thumb is feeders no bigger than the space between your chams eyes, I go a bit bigger with soft worms though. as for feeding...
your cham may be trying to get a drink. do you have a dripper? waterfalls are not really good to keep in a chams enclosure as they are a breeding grounds for bacteria unless throughly cleaned daily.
I have a mistking running 2 nozzles and it doesn't rattle at all. I would private message Marty (he is on this forum) and ask him as Im sure he would be able to help you out.
