    Azul's constipated :(

With my veiled who had the same issue, I think it took 1 or 2 days? It was a long time ago, so I'm not 100% sure. I've also heard feeding them some pear purée can help (though I would think any good fruits probably would.)

    Petsitters - How to instruct?

I always write everything down (checklists work great) as well as have as much stuff as I can pre-sorted. I put all the bugs needed into small containers with a little gutload and put them on/in front of the cage they are to be put in, and I also label them just in case. For adult animals I...

    Azul's constipated :(

I've heard olive oil is better because it breaks down (so if it gets in the lungs, it won't cause as many or any issues.) Try using a soft rubber spatula to open his mouth and put a drop of the oil in the back of his throat (NEVER the front.) Have you tried a shower? Most of my chameleons will...

when to put them to bed....

I always change my lights shorter or longer depending on the season. In the winter I try to have at least 10 hours of light, and I've never had any issues. Sunset is around 5 here too, so I keep the lights on until then or just a little longer. I've found that it is easier to wake them up early...

Leaving chams alone for a few days??

I wouldn't leave babies alone for that long without food. Adults can handle it for quite a while, but not babies. If you do find someone without any reptile/chameleon experience, do what Olympia has suggested. Pre-sort everything into small containers and make everything as simple as possible...

    Panther colors

Some show red all the time, but a lot don't. He might develop more reds as he ages though. A lot of ambis will show at least a little red on their tummies, legs, and tails when resting, but not all of them.

what is the best way to feed out banana roaches

I use a shoebox sized tub (or any cup will do.) Just smear a very thin layer of olive oil around just below the rim (not where the chameleon might hold it though.) make sure it is at least 1" wide or wider or else they might be able to get past it. This has always worked for my climbing roaches...

    Showers....er...

I have some that like showers, but most don't. I have a free range set up in an extra bathroom/shower, so I usually just move them to that and then either mist with hot water (that comes out slightly warm or Luke warm) or use the actual shower head for the ones that like it. Most of them prefer...

    Christmas wish list!

Yeah, I saw those, but noticed they were not what they are advertised as. :/ Thanks though!

    Christmas wish list!

I've really wanted some bitaeniatus, but I haven't been able to find any! I had a female purchased and ready to ship in 3 days, then she gave birth and died shortly after. Then I had a couple of the babies on hold, but they didn't make it to 3-4 months. I guess no one has imported any for...

    Isopod die off... an ideas?

Did it get too wet? I've had some drown on me because my boyfriend accidentally added too much water. Are there any mites? It's also possible that something you fed them had pesticides on them.

    Azul's constipated :(

How long has it been since he last pooped? For adult chameleons, it's not unheard of for them to only go once a week. I've even heard of only going every 10+ days being normal for some. You can always try some juicy worms to see if that helps.

    Supplement Brands

Those are all fine as long as you are supplementing at the right frequencies. A lot of people think that any brand of calcium with d3 should be used 2 times a month, but many brands can be used much more often because they have low D3 content. Repashy calcium plus is a popular all in one...

    Tongue EMERGENCY please look asap

His tongue needs to come off ASAP if it is swollen, being bitten on, and almost being swallowed. A month is too long, you need to see an emergency vet. Once the tongue is off, he will likely need antibiotics. After a few days of healing he can start eating normally again, though you will likely...

    Mantids vs Walking Sticks

Well, exotic walking sticks are technically illegal in the US. The only ones that are not are the native ones, or introduced species that are already established in your state (and that you collect.) The common feeder mantids (Chinese, European, and Carolina) are all legal and can be shipped...

    Panther colors

There are a few ways to do this, and usually it is at least a little stressful (except showing them to a female or using natural sunlight.) I would consider it a good thing that your animal is comfortable enough that it stays a very calm color. If you do want to try to get him to fire up...

    4 Clutches in 6 months?

Each animal is an individual. What works for some won't work for others. She is obviously one of the females who needs to be kept differently to try and prevent clutches. I would start feeding every 2 days or cut the food in half and keep the schedule the same. I try to find the right balance...
