Yesterday I noticed a problem with my damaranum female:
the articulation of the front legs are very swollen, and the animal has difficulty in using them.
I think I can be a beginning of MBD (because at this time eats very little and then I find it difficult to integrate calcium), or gout...
i incubated at 19 night and 21-22 day, on vermiculite(1/1 ratio water) but before the hatched, about a month i lowered the humidity without watering the vermiculite. this way i had 8/9 eggs hatching.
i had work whit this species,and I love them!
Chris,they are very sensible at all kind of integration,whit them use only calcium carbonate 3-4time/month...for gravid female,i used calcium gluconate too.
unfortunately they have short lifespan:female often dead after 1 or 2 cloutch and male live...
this is way i said i was not completely sure about the sex. this specimen was sold to me as a male,but too many characteristics of his body made me doubt.
it's still good news though. i have a 1 year old ready to breed female now, and finding a male to match sure won't be a problem :)
i keep mine only whit florescent tube,a lot of vegetation and hig umidity.
when temperature are ok(more 5-6° at night and more 18° day)i keep them outdoor.they have sun only 2-3 hour in the morning.when are outdoor have a loto of misting during all day.
