Hey everyone,
I'm curious to know if anyone on the forums has used the Exo Terra compact tops (http://exo-terra.com/en/products/compact_top.php) for both UVA/B and heat, like the Zoo Med dual dome fixture? That being said, the compact top says it has a 26W maximum bulb rating, but I don't...
Hi Diego,
Some great live plants you can put in his enclosure would be a Ficus, Schefflera and Pothos. All will be greatly appreciated by your jacksons chameleon.
And out of curiosity, where did you get your enclosure from?
If you aren't shooting Auto, toy around with your ISO settings and aperture, as well as shutter speed. When shooting indoors with low light (and outdoors with low light) you want to use a high ISO setting. So usually you use a 100-200 ISO setting in sunlight, but indoors on a cloudy day I like...
Hello GrimsGal,
And welcome to the forums.
Do you mind telling us a little bit about your set up and chameleon? Below is a great questionnaire that will help us learn more about Grim. I do not want to be the bearer of bad news, but I have a feeling Grim has a health concern that I will address...
Evening y'all,
Has anyone ever used one of these enclosures? Our site sponsor, Marty at Mist King, sells them but I haven't heard any sort of review on them. They're a bit more expensive then the usual LLL or DIY but I like the idea that they come equipped with 2 screen wedges already.
If you...
Yes, it is the female's sire's genetics that will pass down to future males.
Many people like to stick with red-bar genetics mated with red-bars, etc. But some of the largest companies, such as Kammerflage Kreations, have become well known for their crosses that have caught the attention of...
They all look great, though I am surprised you have a 1 month old panther chameleon. Do breeders in Hong Kong sell them younger? Typically the age that panther chameleons go home is around 3 months of age.
You did a great job constructing not only a suitable environment, but also a nice looking piece of furniture :D
Just wondering, what did you seal the background with? You said you just used spray paints, but I've heard the paints still release toxins if not sealed with a polyacrylic or...
Balizar do you think you may have gotten a faulty bulb? Because I have heard nothing but positive reviews from these T5 bulbs, all stating that the UVB output has at least doubled, if not more.
Just a thought, not trying to start any sort of controversy!
I think he was trying to say that it would be ideal to use a meter for these T5 10.0's to monitor the UVB output. If these T5's are twice as powerful as T8's, it would be wise to do so considering too much UVB can cause scale burn.
EDIT** Night anole answered at same time =P
I can just do some online research for UK distributors. UK light wattages are different from North America, so I'd have to find a place that sells both.
Thank you anyways though Dave!
Where do you get yours in the UK? I know that surprisingly UK shipping to Canada is generally cheaper then getting things from the USA.
Thus why I was leaning towards the 5.0, thanks for clearing that up :)
The Zoo Med T5 reptisun's UVB is supposed to be almost double that of the T8's output, so that is why I was thinking of going 5.0. I actually use 10.0 T8's on two of my enclosures, sun ray's on the other two.
Thank you both for your input.
Hello everyone,
Does anyone have any personal opinions on these bulbs and the fixture? The light output seems nice, quite similar to the arcadia bulbs. I want to go Arcadia eventually, but the lack of availability in Canada limits me (shipping through lightyourreptiles is quite expensive). So I...
Haha yes it is!
Thank you very much.
And that's a fascinating fact. For one who has watched Star Wars countless times, and read plenty of books, you'd think I should know that! Thanks for sharing.
Not to mention every time you go out and pass a plant store you get an urge to stop in for a quick look but end up staying for nearly an hour and leaving with all new decor for the scalies.
